Currency
The currency I handle isUSD/JPY.It reacts directly to news, has relatively high liquidity, and often moves at a moderate pace. Many traders post on Twitter, making it easy to grasp the current market flow.
Trading Style
Most of my trades involve securing small profits frequently.Sometimes, I aim for larger price movements.Only when significant factors and favorable conditions(such as overall market uptrends) coincide.
Basically, I steadily accumulate profits bit by bit.
Therefore, I cut losseswhen a position doesn't make sense or moves in the opposite direction..The shelf life of FX is short in a range-bound market(where prices fluctuate back and forth).

1. The Concept of Cutting Losses
Cutting losses is necessary.
Cutting losses is essentiallyan expenseto maximize profits.By incurring expenses,you can eventually increase your profits.
When buying without placinga stop-loss order,based on the expectation of'it will go up',that is when you should cut losses.The expectation of 'it will go up'is unnecessary. For profit maximization, discard this thinking and cut immediately if it doesn't move as expected.
Therefore, always set astop-loss (cut loss line).This is essential for short- to medium-term trades (including 15 minutes to 1 hour, 4 hours to 8 hours). With strict fund management, you can tolerate significant fluctuations even if they go in the opposite direction to some extent.In other words, focus on the direction with the greatest potential for growth.And in the event of a crash (where the price moves more than 1 yen in an instant), even if the spread widens significantly, you can minimize losses to a certain extent (though not guaranteed).

2. The Urge to Trade Frequently and When Things Don't Go As Expected
One common concern isthe urge to trade frequently.
The urge to trade frequentlyis the tendency to take positions immediately. You wait for profits, but if it doesn't go as expected, you end up cutting losses repeatedly.
Small cuts based on proper judgment positions are fine, but when it moves significantly, it accumulates, reducing your funds. After a significant move, taking a position usually results in it moving in the opposite direction.
For example...
When the chart bar is trending upwards
You think it will go up, buy, it goes down, cut losses...
When the chart bar is trending downwards
You think it will go down, sell, it goes up, cut losses...
Why does itmove in the opposite direction?.
The answer is,【because there are already people holding positions】.
【People who already hold positions】are considering their next trades.
For example, in the case of 【buying】, the higher it goes, the more 【sellers】 there are.
So, the next move for a bar that has risen is 【selling】.
When you look at the chart at a glance, if it’s trending upwards, the position you took right there willstart to decline.
Identifying Peaks and Bottoms
If you think this is the bottom! but it goes further down. Cut losses.
This isn't about trading frequently, it'sabout shallow identification of peaks and bottoms.
To solve this,
there is a method to wait until the extreme.

3.【Trend Entry】
FX generally moves within a range. Bars just move back and forth within a range.

From here, we'll get into trading techniques.
This is the best way to identify peaks and bottoms and take larger price movements. I'll explain with images.

Draw parallel lines at the start and end of bars and trace the upward price movements along with the downward movements to maximize the price movement.
Use two parallel lines.

After registering an account, display USD/JPY.
Select the parallel channel from the tools on the left.
Switch to the 4-hour chart.
Determine the part that rebounds against the wall and draw the parallel channel (width).
Right-click and duplicate.
(Do not copy, as it will not be copied parallelly)
After duplicating, move the duplicated part to the upper and lower bounds.
Looking at the upper bound of the channel, you can see red lines where the candlesticks are bouncing off, indicating a temporary peak.
As the upward force diminishes, the downward force strengthens.

Next, there are multiple small oscillations in the overlaid part.
This is themoment of range break. There are 20 bars aligned diagonally, representing 80 hours (4 hours × 20 bars) of accumulated power. This is known asthe trend line (a place hard to break or where the width changes if broken).
Then, it triggers a strong decline. The sell entry point is when it can't surpass the first high of the decline start.
I entered at the bottom part.
Let's examine this identification point.
In this width, the entry would be around 129.5 to just below 130 yen for the lower bound of the large channel, but there's insufficient verification under skepticism.
Once the decline begins, draw small channels. As it rebounds at the flat part,
duplicate and consider the upper bound as well.
Then, you can see the transition to the upper bound part of the channel.
Moreover, you will develop a skeptical mind wondering if it will move up to the 10-yen width of 139.5 to 129.5.
Considering this decline and the conscious price action at round numbers,
slide the width upwards for a strong decline.
Then, you can see the rebound along the lower bound of the large upper channel.
Thus,the next rebound is moved along the width of this price movement.
Here is the story at that time
I woke up around 2 AM, anticipating a New York drop between 3 and 4 AM, so I secured my profits.
Skeptical as it may be, this verification generates profit.
Furthermore, it minimizes the anxious moments after taking risks, making waiting extremely important.

4. When You Want to Take Price Movements
When you want to take price movements, make sure to keep funds in reserve for the challenge.
Setting wide stop-loss points and investing a lot of funds near stop-loss points can quickly deplete your capital.
When you want to take price movements,
cut losses quickly, and use large lots
ⱵＯset wide stop-loss points and use small lots
It's quite difficult, but leaving amounts you can manage without worry is the key to taking price movements and turning them positive.
The longer the timeframe, such as 8-hour, daily, or weekly charts, the wider the stop-loss points.
