Gold-only! An environmental recognition tool that shows at a glance whether the bias is bullish or bearish

■ Role of this indicator

When trading XAUUSD (gold), is it currently more favorable to buy or sell?
This is an “environment recognition meter” to help judge that.

■ Judgement logic

① Slope and crossing status of Moving Averages
Evaluate trend strength and reversal from the slope/cross of SMA20 and SMA50. If the trend is clearly rising, it will be displayed more toward “+1.0”; if falling, toward “-1.0”.

② USD currency strength
Quantify USD strength from the latest changes in USDJPY, EURUSD, GBPUSD, and AUDUSD. If strong, gold is likely to be sold; if weak, more likely to be bought.

■ How to read the score and decision criteria

+ direction→ Gold buying is favorable (long bias)− direction→ Gold selling is favorable (short bias)±0 vicinity→ Clear directional sense is lacking

Score	Meaning of the reference	Entry decision
+1.0	Strong upward pressure (buy favorable)	Consider buying (possible trend nearing end)
+0.5 approx	Buy is becoming dominant	Consider buying (mean reversion)
0.0 vicinity	No clear direction / wait and see	Enter cautiously
-0.5 approx	Sell is becoming dominant	Consider selling (mean reversion)
-1.0	Strong downward pressure (sell favorable)	Consider selling (possible end of trend)

→ It is ideal to consider trading when the score is above +0.5 or below -0.5.

When the score is +0.5 or higher or -0.5 or lowerwatch for signals
Combine with the signal tool to improve entry accuracy
Use as an auxiliary tool to judge pullbacks/retracements
Also effective when used with other filter-type indicators

■ Parameter detail explanation

Parameter name	Description
SMS short-term period	Settings for the short-term moving average (SMA) period. Default is 20 bars. Used to judge trend strength.
SMS short-term period	Settings for the long-term moving average (SMA) period. Default is 50 bars. Grabs the direction of the larger flow.
USD strength impact coefficient	Adjusts the influence of the USD. Larger values increase the impact of dollar strength/weakness.
Threshold value to judge SMA slope as “strong”	The threshold to judge SMA slope as “strong.” Raising the value detects only clearer trends.
OffsetX / OffsetY	Fine-tune the meter's display position. Use when you want to shift the bars on the chart.
Bar_Width / Bar_Height	Specify the gradient bar’s width and height. Size can be adjusted to your preference.
Currency pair name parameter	Use as is

Beginner:Default is recommended.
Experienced user:Adjust to your trading style.

■ XAUUSD trading cautions

Widens spreads are common:Be especially careful in early morning or around economic data releases.
Volatility is very high:Moves can be large in short time; proper lot sizing and stop-loss settings are essential.
Check margin maintenance rate:Keep extra margin available to handle sudden moves.
Liquidity around weekends and holidays:Be cautious of unexpected rapid movements.

Installation steps

Save the ZIP file we provided to your computer.
Right-click the ZIP file and choose “Extract All” to unzip the folder.
Check the .ex4 file inside the unzipped folder.
Launch MT4 and from the menu choose “File” → “Open Data Folder”.

In the opened folder, navigate to the following hierarchy.

Copy the .ex4 fileIndicatorsand paste into the Indicators folder.
Back in MT4, right-click on Navigator → “Refresh”.
Drag and drop the displayed indicator onto a chart from the list.
Set parameters as needed and click OK to apply.
Right-click on the chart → “Properties” → “General” tab and check “Bring chart to front.”
Similarly, right-click on the chart → uncheck the grid display.
