1. Introduction

Complex currency strength analysis made simple at a glance.
Identify the "main trend" of the market across multiple time frames and gain an edge in your trading.

The FX market has numerous currency pairs. "Which currency pair should I focus on now?" "I want to ride the larger market trend without being swayed by short-term price movements." ℵℵ These are common challenges faced by many traders.

The "FX-MTF-Analyzer" is a powerful analytical tool developed to solve such challenges. It utilizes data output in real-time from MetaTrader 4 (MT4),instantly visualizing the strength and weakness of all currencies across multiple time frames.

With this tool, there is no need to open multiple charts one by one for comparison. You can objectively grasp "strong currencies that are commonly bought" and "weak currencies that are commonly sold" at a glance based on data. This provides the following benefits:

2. Before Use (Prerequisites)

To use this tool, you need to have MT4 installed on your PC, anda dedicated indicator (or EA) that outputs the specified CSV file must be installed and running.

Required File Name: FX_MTF_Analyzer_Matrix_Data.csv

Location where the file is output:Inside the MT4 data folderMQL4\Filesfolder

This tool will automatically search for the above file from the general installation location of MT4 upon startup.

3. Screen Layout

▀ Performance Display Area by Period

The currency performance for each period (M1, M5, H1, etc.) recorded in the CSV file will be displayed.

Performance Value:Indicates the strength and weakness of the currency. The larger the positive value, the stronger it is (light blue), and the larger the negative value, the weaker it is (pink).

Strong/Weak Currency Summary:The top/bottom 3 currencies for each period will be highlighted.

Checkbox to Include in Analysis:Check this box if you want to include this period in the analysis.

▁ Analysis Settings Area

Top/Bottom N Currencies:Specify the rank (1-3) to be used as the basis for strength/weakness judgment.

Execute Analysis: Starts the analysis based on the set conditions.

▂ Analysis Results Display Area

The analysis results will be displayed here in text format.

Common Strong/Weak Currencies:Currencies that are commonly strong/weak across all selected periods.

Recommended Trading Ideas:Currency pairs and buy/sell directions derived from the analysis results will be displayed.

▃ Status Display Area

Last Data Update:The last update time of the data file.

Status:Displays the operational status of the application, such as "Operating Normally."

4. Basic Usage

Launching the Application
FX-MTF-Analyzer.exeto launch the tool. The tool will automatically search for the data file and display the data.

Selecting Analysis Periods
Check the box for "Include in Analysis" for the time frames you want to base your analysis on. Multiple selections are recommended. (e.g., M15, H1, H4)

Setting Analysis Conditions
From the "Top/Bottom N Currencies" dropdown menu, select the rank for the analysis criteria.

Executing the Analysis
Execute AnalysisClick the button.

Checking Analysis Results
Check the contents of the "Analysis Results Display Area" for reference in your trading strategy.

About the Logic of Recommended Trading Ideas

This tool determines currency pairs and buy/sell directions based on the principle of "buying strong currencies and selling weak currencies."
The order of currency pairs (e.g.,EURJPY) is automatically formatted according to the internal currency hierarchy.

Internal Currency Hierarchy:
EUR>GBP>AUD>NZD>USD>CAD>CHF>JPY

Example 1:If the strong currency isEURand the weak currency isJPYthen ⊲EURJPYBuy

Example 2:If the strong currency isUSDand the weak currency isGBPthen ⊲GBPUSDSell(because the hierarchy is GBP > USD)

5. Troubleshooting

"Data file (...) not found." displayed
Please check if the dedicated indicator is running in MT4 and ifMQL4\Filesfolder containsFX_MTF_Analyzer_Matrix_Data.csv.

Data not updating
Please check if MT4 and the dedicated indicator are functioning properly. Try restarting the tool as well.

Error message displayed in status
The CSV file may be corrupted. Please try regenerating the CSV file from the MT4 side.
