The Single Penetration of DiNapoli Method is one of the four trading methods developed by Joe DiNapoli, an American individual investor, and is known as the method with the highest winning rate among the DiNapoli methods.

Penetration" means intrusion or penetration, and it is a technique for extracting a portion of a rebound on a pushback after a strong trend has continued.

In Single Penetration, we trade by referring to the price movements on the chart and the 3x3DMA (Displaced Moving average) moving average. The actual procedure is as follows

(1) Look for a place where the thrust appears 8 or more times in a row (2) Enter at 38.2% of the Fibonacci ratio (3) Set a stop loss slightly below 61.8% of the Fibonacci ratio (4) Set a profit at 61.8% of the reverse Fibonacci ratio.

If you try to do this by hand, you will be looking at the chart until a strong trend, called a thrust, appears at least eight times, which takes at least 40 minutes on a 5-minute time frame.

The probability of success seems high but the margin is low, so we developed an indicator that automatically counts thrusts and displays entry and exit signs and notifications.

Functions of the Dinapolis counter

(1) Dinapolis counters count a strong trend called thrust.

The system counts the number of thrusts for each multi-time frame (1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, and 1 day) to see if 8 or more consecutive thrusts occur without exiting the 3x3DMA. The counted number is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen for each time frame, and turns yellow when the number exceeds 8 thrusts.

The time it takes to change to the next bar is displayed in parentheses, so you will have an approximate idea of how long it will take for the thrust to exceed 8 bars. *The display will show 99:99 for 100 minutes or more.

Dinapolis counter displays entry/exit/stop values

Entry/exit/stop values are displayed when the 3x3DMA is exited after 8 or more consecutive thrusts. These values are calculated using the Fibonacci ratio of the lowest and highest thrust values. Actual entry should be made by watching the price action.

(3) Dinapolis counter displays entry/exit signs

In the example below, the bar started below the entry line, so the entry sign is shown with a ↑ arrow below the entry line. Exit is indicated by a sign with a zero at the exit line.

(4) Dinapolis counter notifies entry/exit with alerts
There are four types of alerts in the DiNapoli counter: sound/popup/email/mobile. The pop-up alert example below shows the USDJPY and EURUSD currency pairs. If you set the DiNapoli counter for each currency pair, you do not need to stay on the chart.

How to use the DiNapoli counter

The DiNapoli counter is not tied to a currency pair. If you set the DiNapoli counter for each currency pair, you do not need to stick to each chart. Since each currency pair has a different spread, you also need to compare your profit margin with the spread to enter the market.

The single penetration of the DiNapoli method originally has a small profit margin, so the signal is used as a guide and the price action is discretionary. It seems that Mr. DiNapoli also intentionally left room for discretion.

1)Confirm price action on lower time legs before entry

Check the chart of the lower time frame before entering. If you can confirm price action such as candlesticks, your winning rate should increase. On the other hand, if there is not much good price action, do not enter.

(2) Trade in the direction of the upper hourly trend.

If there is a trend in the upper time frame, the lower time frames are expected to move in the same direction in the long term. By recognizing a major trend in the upper time frame, it is easier to ride the trend and increase profits.

(3) Split Entry Split Settlement.

There is no point in trying to increase profits only to lose all of them. Try to increase profits by dividing entries and exits into segments. Specifically, only half of the entries and exits should be closed while watching the market and using discretionary operations.

4)Combining MACD and Stochastics

By combining MACD and Stochastics, it is possible to confirm the strength or weakness of a trend. By understanding the trend market conditions, the DiNapoli method can be made more effective.

( Supplement) Meaning of Fibonacci Ratio Percentage ① The entry line defaults to 38.2% of the Fibonacci ratio of the highest thrust (0%) to the lowest thrust (100%). The exit line defaults to 61.8% of the Fibonacci ratio of the high (100%) of the thrust from the entry line (0%) in (1).
