Product Overview
USDJPY Multi Engine EA
An H1 USDJPY trading EA that integrates four trading logics
This EA is an automatic trading EA for USDJPY that integrates four engines.
It combines four distinct logics—reversion from Bollinger Band 3σ, trend-following using moving averages, H1 direction judgment with M5 pullbacks and rebounds, and deviation reversal from moving averages—into one.
The market is not always in the same state.
Range markets, strong trends, pullbacks during trends, reversals after sharp moves—market environments vary, and effective trading methods change accordingly.
This EA aims to operate without relying on a single market condition by combining both trend and counter-trend logics.
This EA does not automatically display Bollinger Bands or moving averages used for decision making on the chart.
If needed, please add standard MT5 indicators by yourself.
Adding or removing indicators does not affect the EA's internal trading decisions.
| Glossary | Meaning |
|---|---|
| ADX | Indicator to confirm market momentum |
| DI | Indicator to confirm which direction (up or down) is prevailing |
| ATR | Indicator measuring the magnitude of price movement |
| ATR-based SL | Stop loss adjusted according to price movement |
| ATR-based TP | Take profit adjusted according to price movement |
Four Trading Engines
Engine 1
Bollinger Band 3σ Reversion
A mean-reversion logic that targets reversals when price moves significantly toward Bollinger Band 3σ on H1.
Checks market conditions using ADX and DI to filter extreme overshoots and select reversal candidates.
Stop loss is tied to ATR, and take profit is based on reaching the opposite Bollinger Band.
Engine 2
MA Trend Following
Follows clear trend direction on H1 using moving average, ADX, and DI.
Determines direction by price relation to moving averages and enters when trend strength is within a certain range.
Stops and profits are set based on ATR at entry time.
Engine 3
H1 Direction Judgment + M5 Pullback
Judges major market direction on H1 and enters by waiting for a pullback or rebound on M5.
Confirms trend direction with multiple H1 moving averages, ADX, DI and times entry near M5 moving averages for short-term timing.
Provides finer entry opportunities not easily captured by H1 alone.
Engine 4
MA Deviation Reversal
A mean-reversion logic that targets reversals toward the moving average when price deviates significantly from the MA on H1.
Enters by confirming price deviation, ADX state, and reversal candles.
Stop loss is ATR-based, take profit occurs when price returns to the moving average.
Main Features
USDJPY-specific
Placed on H1 chart
Some logics internally reference M5
Four engines: two trend-following and two mean-reversion
Maximum 3 positions open simultaneously
Prohibits simultaneous long and short positions
Engines 1 and 4 (mean reversion) cannot be open simultaneously
ATR-based stop loss
Distinct take profit methods per engine
New entries stop when spread exceeds limit
Prevents multiple launches on the same account
Does not activate on non-USDJPY
Automatically reverts to H1 if changed to another timeframe
Records order success/failure in Experts log
No external DLLs, indicators, or files required
Position Management
This EA does not run all four engines without limits
Maximum simultaneous positions is 3
Engines 1 and 4 are both mean-reversion types, so their holdings are capped at 1 position as a single group
Engines 2 and 3 each have a maximum of 1 position
Additionally, actions such as buying while holding a long position or selling while holding a short position are not performed
This prevents overly complex position configurations
Settlement Methods by Engine
| Engine | Stop Loss | Take Profit |
|---|---|---|
| Engine 1 | ATR-based SL | Reaches opposite Bollinger Band |
| Engine 2 | ATR-based SL | ATR-based TP |
| Engine 3 | ATR-based SL | ATR-based TP |
| Engine 4 | ATR-based SL | Reaches moving average |
Engines 1 and 4 do not use fixed take profits; settlement occurs when price conditions are met
Therefore, while the EA is running, ensure MT5, automated trading, and network connections are not stopped
About Major Parameters

Purchasers can set the main items: lot size for each engine, maximum spread, and whether to display on chart
Backtest Results
1. Integrated Backtest
The backtests shown use high-quality tick data from Tick Data Suite.
Since the data from your broker may differ in price, spread, server time, GMT, daylight saving, and fees, even testing the same period may yield different results in terms of trades and profit.
| Item | Result |
|---|---|
| Instrument | USDJPY |
| Test period | 2019-01-01 to 2026-07-10 |
| Initial margin | 1,000,000 JPY |
| Lot per engine | 0.10 lots |
| Net profit | 582,546 JPY |
| Profit factor | 1.57 |
| Max drawdown | 8.45% |
| Number of trades | 398 |
| Win rate | 42.96% |
2. Period Split Results
2019–2020 Backtest
2021–2022 Backtest
2023–2024 Backtest
2025–2026/07/10 Backtest
| Period | Net profit | PF | Max DD | Trades |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2019–2020 | 94,533 JPY | 2.73 | 5.20% | 26 |
| 2021–2022 | 104,835 JPY | 1.37 | 6.90% | 95 |
| 2023–2024 | 218,849 JPY | 1.52 | 7.68% | 163 |
| 2025–2026 (up to 2026-07-10) | 164,308 JPY | 1.61 | 7.27% | 114 |
Period split tests are conducted to assess performance under different market environments, not just the overall result.
From 2019 to 2026, results are verified by dividing into multiple periods, observing profits, PF, maximum drawdown, and trade counts in each segment.
Backtests are based on historical market data.
They do not guarantee future profits or performance.
Actual performance may differ due to spreads, execution speed, slippage, server time, account specifications, and network environment. If using for the first time, it is recommended to test on a demo account. The ultimate operation decision and responsibility lies with the user.
3. Individual Backtest Results for Each Engine
This EA integrates four distinct trading logics into one
To verify engine characteristics beyond the integrated results, single-engine backtests under the same conditions were performed
Backtest conditions
- Instrument: USDJPY
- Initial margin: 1,000,000 JPY
- Lot: 0.10 lots per engine
- History quality: 99%
- Test period: 2019 to July 2026
- Test model: All tick data based on realistic tick data
Single-engine results do not sum to match the integrated EA results
Because the integrated EA applies maximum simultaneous positions, direction restrictions, and inter-engine holding limits
Engine 1: Bollinger Band 3σ Reversion
An engine that targets mean-reversion from significant price movement toward Bollinger Band 3σ
Recorded the highest PF of 2.40 among the four, designed to enter conservatively with fewer trades
Engine 2: MA Trend Following
Uses moving averages and market direction to trend-follow in strong trend conditions
Balances total profit, PF, and number of trades, and handles a different trend environment than Engine 1
Engine 3: H1 Direction Judgment + M5 Pullback
Judges major market direction on H1 and seeks pullback buying or retracement selling on M5
With 237 trades, it has the highest number of trades among the four and complements the integrated EA's trading opportunities
Engine 4: MA Deviation Reversal
Targets reversals toward the moving average when price deviates significantly from MA
Win rate 70.67% and max margin drawdown 4.03%
Reason for Integrating Four Logics
Markets have various states: trends, ranges, overshooting, pullbacks and retracements
Rather than relying on a single logic for all conditions, combining four engines with different characteristics supplements trading opportunities and adaptability to market conditions
Display during Position Holding
While holding positions, the current operating status and position information are shown at the top-left of the chart
You can check engine name, buy/sell direction, lot size, entry price, current price, SL, TP, and unrealized P/L
If multiple positions are held, they are displayed separately by engine for easy monitoring of current operations
Note: Engine 1 and Engine 4 do not display settlement content based on fixedTake Profit; settlements occur when conditions are met
During position holding, put the buy/sell direction, lot size, entry price, SL/TP, and unrealized P/L for each engine on the chart's top-left
Trading Frequency
This EA is not a scalping EA that prioritizes high trade frequency
It checks multiple conditions around H1 and only targets when all criteria align
Depending on market conditions, there may be days with no entries
Not an EA that makes many trades in a short time; it uses multiple logics to select market environments

Just like discretionary trading, there are those that decide trading and settlement timings by combining indicators, those that repeatedly buy or sell at certain price (pips) intervals, and trading methods that utilize market anomalies or temporal features. The variety is as rich as the methods in discretionary trading.
To categorize simply,
・Scalping (Type where trades are completed within a few minutes to a few hours),
・Day Trading (Type where trades are completed within several hours to about a day),
・Swing Trading (Type where trades are conducted over a relatively long period of about 1 day to 1 week)
・Grid/Martingale Trading (Holding multiple positions at equal or unequal intervals and settling all once a profit is made. Those that gradually increase the lot number are called Martingale.)
・Anomaly EA (Mid-price trading, early morning scalping)
However, a substantial advantage of automated trading is its ability to limit and predict risks beforehand.
[Risk]
Inherent to forex trading are the trading risks that undeniably exist in automated trading as well.
・Lot Size Risk
Increasing the lot size forcibly due to a high winning rate can, in rare instances, depending on the EA, lead to substantial Pips loss when a loss occurs. It is crucial to verify the SL Pips and the number of positions held before operating with an appropriate lot.
・Rapid Market Fluctuation Risk
There are instances where market prices fluctuate rapidly due to index announcements or unforeseen news. System trading does not account for such unpredictable market movements, rendering it incapable of making decisions on whether to settle in advance or abstain from trading. As a countermeasure, utilizing tools that halt the EA based on indicator announcements or the VIX (fear index) is also possible.
[Benefits]
・Operates 24 hours a day
If there is an opportunity, system trading will execute trades on your behalf consistently. It proves to be an extremely convenient tool for those unable to allocate time to trading.
・Trades dispassionately without being swayed by emotions
There is an absence of self-serving rule modifications, a common human tendency, such as increasing the lot size after consecutive losses in discretionary trading or, conversely, hastily securing profits with minimal gains.
・Accessible for beginners
To engage in Forex trading, there is no prerequisite to study; anyone using system trading will achieve the same results.
[Disadvantages]
・Cannot increase trading frequency at will
Since system trading operates based on pre-programmed conditions, depending on the type of EA, it might only execute trades a few times a month.
・Suitability may vary with market conditions
Depending on the trading type of the EA, there are periods more suited to trend trading and periods more suited to contrarian trading, making consistent results across all periods unlikely. While the previous year might have yielded good results, this year's performance might not be as promising, necessitating some level of discretion in determining whether it is an opportune time to operate.
・MT4 (MetaTrader 4. An account needs to be opened with a Forex company that offers MT4.)
・EA (A program for automated trading)
・The operating deposit required to run the EA
・A PC that can run 24 hours or a VPS (Virtual Private Server), where a virtual PC is hosted on a cloud server to run MT4.
Additionally, there are both demo and real accounts available. You can experience trading with virtual money by applying for a demo account. After opening a real account, you select the connection server assigned by the Forex broker, enter the password, and log in to the account.
When you deposit money into your account using the method specified by the forex broker, the funds will be reflected in your MT4 account, and you can trade.
Firstly, download the purchased EA file from your My Page on GogoJungle. You will download a zip (compressed) file, so right-click to extract it and retrieve the file named ‘◯◯◯ (EA name)_A19GAw09 (any 8 alphanumeric characters).ex4’ from inside.
Next, launch MT4 and navigate to ‘File’ → ‘Open Data Folder’ → ‘MQL4’ → ‘Experts’ folder, and place the ex4 file inside. Once done, close MT4 and restart it. Then, go to the upper menu ‘Tools’ → ‘Options’, and under ‘Expert Advisors’, ensure ‘Allow automated trading’ and ‘Allow DLL imports’ are checked, then press OK to close.
The necessary currency pair and time frame for the correct operation of the EA are specified on the EA sales page. Refer to this information and open the chart of the correct currency pair time frame (e.g., USDJPY5M for a USD/Yen 5-minute chart).
Within the menu navigator, under ‘Expert Advisors’, you will find the EA file name you placed earlier. Click to select it, then drag & drop it directly onto the chart to load the EA. Alternatively, you can double-click the EA name to load it onto the selected chart.
If ‘Authentication Success’ appears in the upper left of the chart, the authentication has been successful. To operate the EA, you need to keep your PC running 24 hours. Therefore, either disable the automatic sleep function or host MT4 on a VPS and operate the EA.
If you want to use it with an account other than the authenticated one, you need to reset the registered account.
To reset the account, close the MT4 where the Web authentication is registered, then go to My Page on GogoJungle > Use > Digital Contents > the relevant EA > press the ‘Reset’ button for the registration number, and the registered account will be released.
When the account is in a reset state, using the EA with another MT4 account will register a new account.
Also, you can reset the account an unlimited number of times.
→ Items to Check When EA is Not Operating
1 lot = 100,000 currency units
0.1 lot = 10,000 currency units
0.01 lot = 1,000 currency units
For USD/JPY, 1 lot would mean holding 100,000 dollars.
The margin required to hold lots is determined by the leverage set by the Forex broker.
If the leverage is 25 times, the margin required to hold 10,000 currency units of USD/JPY would be:
10000*109 (※ at a rate of 109 yen per dollar) ÷ 25 = 43,600 yen.
・Risk-Return Ratio: Total Profit and Loss during the period ÷ Maximum Drawdown
・Maximum Drawdown: The largest unrealized loss during the operation period
・Maximum Position Number: This is the maximum number of positions that the EA can theoretically hold at the same time
・TP (Take Profit): The set profit-taking Pips (or specified amount, etc.) in the EA's settings
・SL (Stop Loss): The set maximum loss pips (or specified amount, etc.) in the EA's settings
・Trailing Stop: Instead of settling at a specified Pips, once a certain profit is made, the settlement SL is raised at a certain interval (towards the profit), maximizing the profit. It is a method of settlement.
・Risk-Reward Ratio (Payoff Ratio): Average Profit ÷ Average Loss
・Hedging: Holding both buy and sell positions simultaneously (Some FX companies also have types where hedging is not allowed)
