About EA's Strategy

Neko Punch USDJPY Edition
Usually calm, then strike at the crucial moment.
Only when a target is found, enter with up to 6 positions at once.
This is a USDJPY M5 multi-logic EA without grid averaging (martingale).
By independently running strategies with different personalities, it aims for long-term stability regardless of market conditions.
Defense: Fakeout Strategy Against the ranges formed in the London, Tokyo, and New York sessions, enter in the opposite direction the moment a false breakout appears. The novice losses from being fooled are envisioned to be turned into profits by us. It monitors four timeframes: M5 / M15 / M30 / H1.
Attack: Momentum Strategy When a strong trend in its initial phase is detected—such as a strong bullish candle, strong bearish candle, or rapid price movements—the strategy enters with multiple positions. A confirmation filter using MFI (volume-weighted momentum) excludes false breakouts. The “Neko Punch” punchline comes from here. The basic approach is intraday trading with most positions settled within the same day, but some momentum-strategy trades may cross to the next day when capturing a strong trend (up to about 20 business days). All positions are structurally protected with a maximum SL of 50 pips per position.
Trading Examples
Example 1: Enter all at once and win all(2024.11.06)
A strong momentum occurs, strategy E lights up again at each candle close → consecutive entries. Multiple trades in the same wave in the same direction accumulate, and all positions are closed by TP. This is the essence of the “Here-and-Now Punch.”
※ The strategy alone has a maximum of 6 positions; even across all strategies, a total cap of 6 positions is imposed. Each position is protected with an independent SL (up to 50 pips).
Example 2: Losses covered by another logic(2024.11.04)
Even on days when a long position hits stop loss, loss is capped at -50 pips per position (Global Cap). On the same day, another logic gains substantial profits in the short direction, and the day ends positively overall. Strategy 22 operates independently, proving that counter-direction logic provides risk diversification.
※ This “loss coverage by counter-direction logic” is one of the characteristics of this EA, but it does not occur every time. There are days when the losing logic cannot cover losses, and the day ends negative. Final evaluation should be judged on long-term cumulative performance, not daily results.
Accurate backtesting using TDS (TickDataSuite)
From January 2014 to April 202612 years 4 monthsusingTDS (TickDataSuite)to test under variable spread and 100% live-like conditions.
5,060 trades and SQN score 7.61 demonstrate “high reproducibility”
Backtest numbers can be influenced by luck when the number of trades is small, reducing reproducibility in live trading. In the 12 years 4 months of validation for this EA, a large sample of5,060 tradesis available.
This equates toabout 410 trades per year, 34 trades per month, a volume that cannot be achieved by a handful of coincidences. Statistically, with such a sample, the metrics “PF1.88 • Win rate 58.5% • Expectation +4.99 pips/trade” become meaningful indicators of the EA’s performance..
Behavior under +1.5 pips expanded TDS variable spread
Even with a +1.5 pips added to TDS variable spread,PF 1.54is maintained. It has resilience to run on brokers with somewhat wider spreads or during certain times.

- Global_Max_Positions...Maximum simultaneous positions across all strategies. Default 6.
- Max_SL_Pips...Maximum stop loss in pips per position. Default 50. This cap is structurally enforced for all strategies.
- Max_Spread_Pips...Acceptable spread in pips. No entries beyond this spread. Default 2.5.

Please read before purchase
Neko Punch may hold up to a maximum of six positions instantaneously when a strong trend occurs. It is not averaging down (not a martingale).
Each position is an entry result of 22 independent strategies based on their own criteria (time of day, timeframe, pattern). Each position has an independent SL (up to 50 pips) and TP, and there is absolutely no averaging down to recover losses.
When a strong trend appears, the win rate statistically increases, and entering with multiple positions at this moment captures most of annual profits. However, if the read is wrong, a larger drawdown can occur in a short time. The backtest shows a maximum consecutive losses of 16 and a maximum drawdown of 6.00%, which are due to this characteristic.
| 1 Position Max SL | 50 pips (Global cap) |
|---|---|
| Simultaneous Position Cap | 6 positions (total across all strategies) |
| Worst-case Scenario | 6 positions × 50 pips = 300 pips of simultaneous drawdown as a structural cap |
| Prohibited | No averaging down / no martingale (no deliberate hedging or counter-position strategies) |
| Win/Loss streak bias | Up to 25 consecutive wins / 16 consecutive losses (due to multiple logics detected simultaneously) |
| Operational Recommendation | If positions suddenly increase, stay calm and operate for at least 3 months |
Frequently Asked Questions
The number of trades seems small; is it statistically sufficient?
5,060 trades over 12 years 4 months (about 34 per month). This is designed so that 22 logics monitor independently and only enter when conditions align; if there is no opportunity, there is no trade. The absolute count of 5,060 is statistically sufficient, and the SQN score is 7.61 (SQN > 2 generally indicates a good system).
Will there be situations with hedging (long and short positions simultaneously)?
There is no intentionally hedging strategy implemented (no logic to place reverse positions for loss recovery). However, because this EA uses a 22-strategy independent ensemble design,it is structurally possible for long and short positions to exist at the same time. Specifically, when a momentum strategy (E) holds a buy position for a long-term hold, another strategy may independently detect sell conditions. Each position is protected by an independent 50 pips SL, preventing unbounded risk. If you are using an account with hedging restrictions by a domestic broker, please consider that.
Is this classified as scalping, day trading, or swing trading?
Primarily intraday trading. Of the 22 strategies, 21 are forced to close based on time within the day of entry. SL up to 50 pips, TP ranges from about 10–50 pips, so it falls under short-term trading. However, the momentum strategy (E) can hold positions for days up to about 20 business days when capturing a strong trend. It is designed to ride the trend to maximize profits, and each position is protected by an independent 50 pips SL, so even longer holdings do not increase risk.
Is this an EA that targets the Nikkei/yen “mid-rate anomaly”?
No, not at all. The Mid-rate anomaly (trading around 9:55 Tokyo time when yen tends to weaken) is not part of this EA’s strategy. The Tokyo time logic looks for a false breakout (fakeout) formed in that time window and trades in the opposite direction; it does not rely on a fixed directional anomaly at a specific time. Mid-rate EAs have a fixed direction at a specific time, which can become ineffective when policy or supply-demand conditions change. This EA depends on the movement structure of ranges, so mid-rate effectiveness does not affect it.
Can this be used for other currency pairs?
This EA is optimized specifically for USDJPY M5. Other pairs are not recommended. A version for other currencies (e.g., EURUSD) is planned for later.
Is a VPS necessary?
Recommended. Because multiple logics monitor continuously on the M5 timeframe, you need a 24-hour operation environment (PC on continuously or VPS).
Do I need to adjust parameters?
Generally not. The default parameters align with backtest results. Only adjust the base lot size according to your account balance.
I started trading and immediately lost.
This EA is designed to strike at crucial moments, so it tends to have clustering of favorable and unfavorable periods (maximum 16 consecutive losses). Do not stop after a short-term downturn; please run for at least 3 months.

Just like discretionary trading, there are those that decide trading and settlement timings by combining indicators, those that repeatedly buy or sell at certain price (pips) intervals, and trading methods that utilize market anomalies or temporal features. The variety is as rich as the methods in discretionary trading.
To categorize simply,
・Scalping (Type where trades are completed within a few minutes to a few hours),
・Day Trading (Type where trades are completed within several hours to about a day),
・Swing Trading (Type where trades are conducted over a relatively long period of about 1 day to 1 week)
・Grid/Martingale Trading (Holding multiple positions at equal or unequal intervals and settling all once a profit is made. Those that gradually increase the lot number are called Martingale.)
・Anomaly EA (Mid-price trading, early morning scalping)
However, a substantial advantage of automated trading is its ability to limit and predict risks beforehand.
[Risk]
Inherent to forex trading are the trading risks that undeniably exist in automated trading as well.
・Lot Size Risk
Increasing the lot size forcibly due to a high winning rate can, in rare instances, depending on the EA, lead to substantial Pips loss when a loss occurs. It is crucial to verify the SL Pips and the number of positions held before operating with an appropriate lot.
・Rapid Market Fluctuation Risk
There are instances where market prices fluctuate rapidly due to index announcements or unforeseen news. System trading does not account for such unpredictable market movements, rendering it incapable of making decisions on whether to settle in advance or abstain from trading. As a countermeasure, utilizing tools that halt the EA based on indicator announcements or the VIX (fear index) is also possible.
[Benefits]
・Operates 24 hours a day
If there is an opportunity, system trading will execute trades on your behalf consistently. It proves to be an extremely convenient tool for those unable to allocate time to trading.
・Trades dispassionately without being swayed by emotions
There is an absence of self-serving rule modifications, a common human tendency, such as increasing the lot size after consecutive losses in discretionary trading or, conversely, hastily securing profits with minimal gains.
・Accessible for beginners
To engage in Forex trading, there is no prerequisite to study; anyone using system trading will achieve the same results.
[Disadvantages]
・Cannot increase trading frequency at will
Since system trading operates based on pre-programmed conditions, depending on the type of EA, it might only execute trades a few times a month.
・Suitability may vary with market conditions
Depending on the trading type of the EA, there are periods more suited to trend trading and periods more suited to contrarian trading, making consistent results across all periods unlikely. While the previous year might have yielded good results, this year's performance might not be as promising, necessitating some level of discretion in determining whether it is an opportune time to operate.
・MT4 (MetaTrader 4. An account needs to be opened with a Forex company that offers MT4.)
・EA (A program for automated trading)
・The operating deposit required to run the EA
・A PC that can run 24 hours or a VPS (Virtual Private Server), where a virtual PC is hosted on a cloud server to run MT4.
Additionally, there are both demo and real accounts available. You can experience trading with virtual money by applying for a demo account. After opening a real account, you select the connection server assigned by the Forex broker, enter the password, and log in to the account.
When you deposit money into your account using the method specified by the forex broker, the funds will be reflected in your MT4 account, and you can trade.
Firstly, download the purchased EA file from your My Page on GogoJungle. You will download a zip (compressed) file, so right-click to extract it and retrieve the file named ‘◯◯◯ (EA name)_A19GAw09 (any 8 alphanumeric characters).ex4’ from inside.
Next, launch MT4 and navigate to ‘File’ → ‘Open Data Folder’ → ‘MQL4’ → ‘Experts’ folder, and place the ex4 file inside. Once done, close MT4 and restart it. Then, go to the upper menu ‘Tools’ → ‘Options’, and under ‘Expert Advisors’, ensure ‘Allow automated trading’ and ‘Allow DLL imports’ are checked, then press OK to close.
The necessary currency pair and time frame for the correct operation of the EA are specified on the EA sales page. Refer to this information and open the chart of the correct currency pair time frame (e.g., USDJPY5M for a USD/Yen 5-minute chart).
Within the menu navigator, under ‘Expert Advisors’, you will find the EA file name you placed earlier. Click to select it, then drag & drop it directly onto the chart to load the EA. Alternatively, you can double-click the EA name to load it onto the selected chart.
If ‘Authentication Success’ appears in the upper left of the chart, the authentication has been successful. To operate the EA, you need to keep your PC running 24 hours. Therefore, either disable the automatic sleep function or host MT4 on a VPS and operate the EA.
If you want to use it with an account other than the authenticated one, you need to reset the registered account.
To reset the account, close the MT4 where the Web authentication is registered, then go to My Page on GogoJungle > Use > Digital Contents > the relevant EA > press the ‘Reset’ button for the registration number, and the registered account will be released.
When the account is in a reset state, using the EA with another MT4 account will register a new account.
Also, you can reset the account an unlimited number of times.
→ Items to Check When EA is Not Operating
1 lot = 100,000 currency units
0.1 lot = 10,000 currency units
0.01 lot = 1,000 currency units
For USD/JPY, 1 lot would mean holding 100,000 dollars.
The margin required to hold lots is determined by the leverage set by the Forex broker.
If the leverage is 25 times, the margin required to hold 10,000 currency units of USD/JPY would be:
10000*109 (※ at a rate of 109 yen per dollar) ÷ 25 = 43,600 yen.
・Risk-Return Ratio: Total Profit and Loss during the period ÷ Maximum Drawdown
・Maximum Drawdown: The largest unrealized loss during the operation period
・Maximum Position Number: This is the maximum number of positions that the EA can theoretically hold at the same time
・TP (Take Profit): The set profit-taking Pips (or specified amount, etc.) in the EA's settings
・SL (Stop Loss): The set maximum loss pips (or specified amount, etc.) in the EA's settings
・Trailing Stop: Instead of settling at a specified Pips, once a certain profit is made, the settlement SL is raised at a certain interval (towards the profit), maximizing the profit. It is a method of settlement.
・Risk-Reward Ratio (Payoff Ratio): Average Profit ÷ Average Loss
・Hedging: Holding both buy and sell positions simultaneously (Some FX companies also have types where hedging is not allowed)
