Profit-Taking IronmanSTAF_USDJPY_H1
~ Lock in floating profits without letting them slip, steadily compounding assets with unified defense and offense EA ~
Notice of Version Update 1.1.7
■ Fixed processing for managing maximum number of positions
Resolved an issue where, in some environments, the number of positions held in the same direction could exceed the configured limit of 3 and, in rare cases, a fourth position was placed.
We reviewed the process for checking the number of open positions, corrected the retrieval of order information, and now determine symbol, magic number, and trade direction correctly.
Additionally, we recheck the number of positions immediately before sending a new order and when retrying an order, and added a safety control to prevent new orders when the limit has been reached.
■ Improved reproducibility of backtest results
Fixed an issue where total trades and P/L could vary when repeating backtests over the same period and settings.
The cause was that records of partial closures remained in MT4 after a backtest ended and were carried over into the next test.
With this fix, backtests and optimizations now initialize the partial closure management state at the start of each test. We confirmed that repeated tests under identical conditions now yield consistent trade counts and P/L.
On live/demo accounts, we maintain the previous mechanism that preserves the partial-closure state even after restarting MT4 or the VPS.
■ Other enhancements
- Added a fail-safe to not place new orders when retrieving the position count fails
- Strengthened margin checks before sending orders
- Re-verify position limits and required margin when retrying orders
- Enhanced logging necessary for root-cause analysis
This update does not change the entry/exit logic or the default values of parameters. As before, the maximum number of positions in the same direction is 3.
For stable operation and accurate backtesting, we ask all users to update to the latest version.

[Concept]
Due to market fluctuations, it is not uncommon for floating profits to be pulled back to near breakeven.
“Profit-Taking Ironman” is an EA designed with the goal of “increasing the certainty of profit realization” to address this challenge.
It aims to reliably capture short-term profit opportunities and bring stable cash flow to your portfolio.
[The Ironman’s Two Core Logics: An Integrated Design of Defense and Offense]
1) Volatility-Adaptive Step Trailing
This function automatically adjusts the trailing width according to market volatility to optimize profit protection.
• Stepwise updates
As profits advance by set increments, the stop loss is raised in steps to reinforce profit capture.
• Thorough profit protection
Even in sharp reversals, the updated stop loss enables exits “with profits remaining.”
It greatly reduces the risk of floating profits turning into losses.
2) Sequential (1 bar at a time) partial closures
This logic increases revenue stability by harvesting profits in stages rather than all at once.
•1-bar partial profit-taking
After reaching a defined profit, partial closure is executed at a set proportion upon each candle close.
• Improved efficiency in compounding gains
As long as the trend continues, profits are built up step by step to maximize the final total return.
[Value this EA delivers]
• Reduced decision-making burden
The logic handles profit-taking timing, reducing the mental load from discretionary decisions.
• Smoother equity curve
Frequent profit-taking helps suppress drawdowns and improves the stability of the equity curve.
It’s designed to aim for a smoother growth trajectory over the long term.

The “indecision about profit-taking timing” and the “stress of shrinking floating profits” that many traders face.
To address these two key issues, this EA presents clear solutions with two mathematically based approaches.
Secure profits with “ironclad defense,” then build them further with “steady offense” —
An EA dedicated to “leaving profits on the table,” designed for stable growth.
■Dramatically reduce mental stress
The EA automates the most difficult “exit decision.”
It significantly reduces psychological stress such as hesitation, haste, and regret,
creating a more stable trading environment.
■ A gentle equity curve
Designed to curb excessive drawdowns while steadily accumulating profits through frequent realizations.
The equity curve tends to grow more smoothly and stably.
Rather than “winning big,” it focuses on “steady accumulation” —
Ideal for those who want to grow assets over the long term with this EA.
[EA Logic]
■ 1. Multi-logic structure to capture market “inefficiencies”
This EA is a comprehensive system equipped with multiple independent logics that do not rely on a single indicator. Each logic is optimized for different market conditions such as trend, range, reversal, and breakout, and selects only the highest-edge signals according to the current market phase.
▼ Example signals included
- Trend-following type
- Reversal-seeking type
- Volatility-break type
- Close judgment at clear turning points
By complementing each other, multiple logics maintain stable performance even in markets where a single logic struggles.
■2. Risk management designed for “compounding”
A major strength of this EA is compounding lot calculation (Money Management) that automatically adjusts lot size according to account balance.
▼ Lot calculation flow
- Set allowable risk (Risk%)
- Calculate “loss per 1 lot” from StopLoss (pips)
- Auto-calculate the optimal lot size against account balance
- Monitor margin level in real time and select the maximum safe lot
This enables living risk management where lots increase when winning and decrease when losing.
It comes standard with a pro-grade capital management logic that tends to produce an upward-sloping equity curve.
■3. Maintain “logic purity” with auto-closing opposite positions
Before entering, this EA always automatically closes positions in the opposite direction.
▼ Example
- Buy signal → Close all Sell positions
- Sell signal → Close all Buy positions
This keeps the logic direction always clear and eliminates redundant hedging and logic conflicts.
■4. Thorough “profit protection” after entry
After opening a position, the following two safety features operate automatically:
● BreakEven (move stop to breakeven)
When floating profit reaches a certain level, SL is moved to entry to ensure zero-loss status.
● TrailingStop (stepwise TS)
As profits extend, SL follows in steps to securely lock in profits.
It automatically achieves ideal trade management: “let it run when it should, protect when it must.”
■5. Sequential partial closures (every 1 bar)
After reaching the defined profit, execute partial closures at each candle close. As long as the trend continues, profits are steadily harvested to maximize the final total return.
- Start partial closures when profit exceeds the set pips
- Close a set % of the held lots
- Execute only at bar open
■6. Achieve “fully automated operation” with MagicNumber management
This EA rigorously identifies positions via MagicNumber, avoiding interference with other EAs or manual trades.
- Manages only positions opened by this EA
- Does not touch positions of other EAs
- Supports simultaneous operation on multiple charts and symbols
[Summary]
“Winning logic × Living risk management × High-precision order handling”A comprehensive, pro-grade EA integrating these three elements.
This EA is not a simple indicator-based EA.
- Market analysis
- Risk management
- Order execution
- Profit protection
It is a full-fledged automated trading system integrating all of the above.
Select the optimal logic for market conditions, grow capital via compounding, extend profits while ensuring safety, and run fully automatically 24/7.
Everything is built in to “grow your capital efficiently, safely, and continuously.”.
[System Architecture]
[Backtest]
For this EA, we perform backtesting using MetaTrader 4’s built-in Strategy Tester and evaluate with Quant Analyzer.
Backtest results are posted as reference information to verify EA logic and behavior.

[ Q&A ]
Q1.What EA logic does this use?
ThisEA is a multi-logic type equipped with multiple independent entry logics (trend, reversal, breakout, etc.)
and adopts only the optimal signals according to market conditions — a multi-logic EA.
It also integrates pro-grade risk management features such as compounding lot sizing, breakeven, and trailing stop.
.
Q2.What is a compounding lot?
A compounding lot is a mechanism that automatically adjusts lot size according to account balance.
Since lots increase when winning and decrease when losing,it tends to produce an upward-sloping equity curve.
Q3.Which currency pair and timeframe does it support?
USDJPY · H1 (1-hour) only.
It runs with optimized logic and parameters, operable with default settings.
Q4.Will it interfere with other EAs or manual trades?
No.
MagicNumber fully identifies positions,so other EAs and manual positions are not touched at all.
Q5.Does it hedge (hold both directions)?
No.
This EA closes opposite positions automatically before entry,so the logic direction is always clear and it does not engage in unnecessary hedging.
Q6.What happens when the spread widens?
If the spread exceeds the set Max_Spread,the EA will automatically avoid entry.
This prevents unnecessary losses.
Q7.What if the margin level is low?
MoneyManagement automatically checks the margin leveland adjusts to the maximum safe lot size.
It will not force an increase in lots when margin is in danger.
Q8.Are stop loss (SL) and take profit (TP) set automatically?
Yes.
At entry, SL (StopLoss) and TP (TakeProfit) are set automatically.
In addition, breakeven (BE) and trailing stop (TS) also operate automatically.
Q9. VPSIs it necessary?
If you want 24/7 operation, we recommend a VPS.
However, as it is an H1 (1-hour) EA,a high-spec VPS is not required.
Q10.Can beginners use it?
Yes.
It can be operated with default parameters.
No complex setup is needed—just attach it to the chart and it runs automatically.
Q11.What is the recommended margin?
At least 50,000 JPY (about 300–400USD) is recommended.
When using compounding lot management, since it automatically adjusts lots according to account balance, trading is possible with 30,000 JPY, but 200,000 JPY or more is preferable for more stable operation.
Q12.Is it okay to close positions manually midway?
No problem.
The EA manages by MagicNumber,so it will continue to function normally after manual closure.
Q13.What market conditions is it strong in?
• Trending markets
• Reversal points
• Volatility expansion phases
Multiple logics complement each other, providing stability without relying on a single logic.
Q14.What market conditions is it weak in?
• Ultra-low volatility
• Whipsaws immediately after news releases
• Periods of sudden spread widening
In such special environments, the logic’s edge is harder to realize, and profitability may temporarily decrease.
※ This EA is a trading assistance tool and does not guarantee future profits.
We recommend thorough testing on a demo account before live operation.

Just like discretionary trading, there are those that decide trading and settlement timings by combining indicators, those that repeatedly buy or sell at certain price (pips) intervals, and trading methods that utilize market anomalies or temporal features. The variety is as rich as the methods in discretionary trading.
To categorize simply,
・Scalping (Type where trades are completed within a few minutes to a few hours),
・Day Trading (Type where trades are completed within several hours to about a day),
・Swing Trading (Type where trades are conducted over a relatively long period of about 1 day to 1 week)
・Grid/Martingale Trading (Holding multiple positions at equal or unequal intervals and settling all once a profit is made. Those that gradually increase the lot number are called Martingale.)
・Anomaly EA (Mid-price trading, early morning scalping)
However, a substantial advantage of automated trading is its ability to limit and predict risks beforehand.
[Risk]
Inherent to forex trading are the trading risks that undeniably exist in automated trading as well.
・Lot Size Risk
Increasing the lot size forcibly due to a high winning rate can, in rare instances, depending on the EA, lead to substantial Pips loss when a loss occurs. It is crucial to verify the SL Pips and the number of positions held before operating with an appropriate lot.
・Rapid Market Fluctuation Risk
There are instances where market prices fluctuate rapidly due to index announcements or unforeseen news. System trading does not account for such unpredictable market movements, rendering it incapable of making decisions on whether to settle in advance or abstain from trading. As a countermeasure, utilizing tools that halt the EA based on indicator announcements or the VIX (fear index) is also possible.
[Benefits]
・Operates 24 hours a day
If there is an opportunity, system trading will execute trades on your behalf consistently. It proves to be an extremely convenient tool for those unable to allocate time to trading.
・Trades dispassionately without being swayed by emotions
There is an absence of self-serving rule modifications, a common human tendency, such as increasing the lot size after consecutive losses in discretionary trading or, conversely, hastily securing profits with minimal gains.
・Accessible for beginners
To engage in Forex trading, there is no prerequisite to study; anyone using system trading will achieve the same results.
[Disadvantages]
・Cannot increase trading frequency at will
Since system trading operates based on pre-programmed conditions, depending on the type of EA, it might only execute trades a few times a month.
・Suitability may vary with market conditions
Depending on the trading type of the EA, there are periods more suited to trend trading and periods more suited to contrarian trading, making consistent results across all periods unlikely. While the previous year might have yielded good results, this year's performance might not be as promising, necessitating some level of discretion in determining whether it is an opportune time to operate.
・MT4 (MetaTrader 4. An account needs to be opened with a Forex company that offers MT4.)
・EA (A program for automated trading)
・The operating deposit required to run the EA
・A PC that can run 24 hours or a VPS (Virtual Private Server), where a virtual PC is hosted on a cloud server to run MT4.
Additionally, there are both demo and real accounts available. You can experience trading with virtual money by applying for a demo account. After opening a real account, you select the connection server assigned by the Forex broker, enter the password, and log in to the account.
When you deposit money into your account using the method specified by the forex broker, the funds will be reflected in your MT4 account, and you can trade.
Firstly, download the purchased EA file from your My Page on GogoJungle. You will download a zip (compressed) file, so right-click to extract it and retrieve the file named ‘◯◯◯ (EA name)_A19GAw09 (any 8 alphanumeric characters).ex4’ from inside.
Next, launch MT4 and navigate to ‘File’ → ‘Open Data Folder’ → ‘MQL4’ → ‘Experts’ folder, and place the ex4 file inside. Once done, close MT4 and restart it. Then, go to the upper menu ‘Tools’ → ‘Options’, and under ‘Expert Advisors’, ensure ‘Allow automated trading’ and ‘Allow DLL imports’ are checked, then press OK to close.
The necessary currency pair and time frame for the correct operation of the EA are specified on the EA sales page. Refer to this information and open the chart of the correct currency pair time frame (e.g., USDJPY5M for a USD/Yen 5-minute chart).
Within the menu navigator, under ‘Expert Advisors’, you will find the EA file name you placed earlier. Click to select it, then drag & drop it directly onto the chart to load the EA. Alternatively, you can double-click the EA name to load it onto the selected chart.
If ‘Authentication Success’ appears in the upper left of the chart, the authentication has been successful. To operate the EA, you need to keep your PC running 24 hours. Therefore, either disable the automatic sleep function or host MT4 on a VPS and operate the EA.
If you want to use it with an account other than the authenticated one, you need to reset the registered account.
To reset the account, close the MT4 where the Web authentication is registered, then go to My Page on GogoJungle > Use > Digital Contents > the relevant EA > press the ‘Reset’ button for the registration number, and the registered account will be released.
When the account is in a reset state, using the EA with another MT4 account will register a new account.
Also, you can reset the account an unlimited number of times.
→ Items to Check When EA is Not Operating
1 lot = 100,000 currency units
0.1 lot = 10,000 currency units
0.01 lot = 1,000 currency units
For USD/JPY, 1 lot would mean holding 100,000 dollars.
The margin required to hold lots is determined by the leverage set by the Forex broker.
If the leverage is 25 times, the margin required to hold 10,000 currency units of USD/JPY would be:
10000*109 (※ at a rate of 109 yen per dollar) ÷ 25 = 43,600 yen.
・Risk-Return Ratio: Total Profit and Loss during the period ÷ Maximum Drawdown
・Maximum Drawdown: The largest unrealized loss during the operation period
・Maximum Position Number: This is the maximum number of positions that the EA can theoretically hold at the same time
・TP (Take Profit): The set profit-taking Pips (or specified amount, etc.) in the EA's settings
・SL (Stop Loss): The set maximum loss pips (or specified amount, etc.) in the EA's settings
・Trailing Stop: Instead of settling at a specified Pips, once a certain profit is made, the settlement SL is raised at a certain interval (towards the profit), maximizing the profit. It is a method of settlement.
・Risk-Reward Ratio (Payoff Ratio): Average Profit ÷ Average Loss
・Hedging: Holding both buy and sell positions simultaneously (Some FX companies also have types where hedging is not allowed)
