1. about the 50th
In Japan, it is said that many companies that trade with foreign countries place orders to buy U.S. dollars in order to raise funds for their business before the midday trading hours (9:55 a.m. Japan Standard Time). Among these, since Japan has a long-established business custom of making fifty payments, the settlement of funds by domestic importers tends to be concentrated on the fiftieth, and as a result, the USD/JPY rate tends to rise toward a weaker yen until 9:55 JST and then fall after 9:55 JST. *Reference: Jaffee Journal, Vol. 19, 2021, p. 57-78, "The Relationship between the Ratio of Trade Currency to Domestic Imports and Gotovian Anomaly." 2. About EA Outline of EA We will focus on the middle price time (trading with actual demand) of the 50th day of the month to buy for a rate rise and sell for a rate fall. We need to engage in economic activities in order to live our daily lives, and therefore, we believe that trading based on real demand can steadily increase our assets from a long-term perspective. As stated in the back-test, assets have continued to increase from 2003~2022 from a long-term perspective. This EA targets the 50-day middle price time, which is considered to have a particularly high time advantage among trades involving actual demand. However, since the foreign exchange market is unstable, sometimes speculative or fundamental-related factors can cause large fluctuations in foreign exchange prices, burying the impact of transactions involving actual demand. For this reason, this EA provides a technical advantage by not trading when a major retrograde trend is occurring. Logic of the EA: (1) The following trades will be made based on the middle price time of the 50th day of the month. ①Buy Entry at 0:00 Japan time → Exit at 9:55 Japan time Sell Entry at 9:55 JST → Exit at 15:00 JST The EA does not enter when a retreating trend is occurring according to the original trend judgment. This EA trades only one position. It does not trade both positions. (Even if you set Exit for Buy at 9:55 and Entry for Sell at 9:55, it will close the Buy position first and then start trading the Sell position.) Trading days:. ・Multiple days of 5 every month + the end of the month (5,10,15,20,25 days + the end of the month) *If the 50th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday in Japan, the business day immediately preceding it will be considered as the 50th day (50th day in advance). *Christmas (12/25) will not be entered even if it falls on a fiftieth day. 3. Long-term back-test results of this EA Attached below are the results of back-testing under various conditions. The spread is 1.0 pips in each case. (1) Default settings: both buy & sell trades
(2) When executing a buy-only transaction
(3) When conducting a sell-only transaction
(4) When both buy & sell transactions are executed, but not on U.S. weekends and holidays
*This is a backtest with USA_Holiday_Ignore set to false.
4. Precautions for using this EA
This EA is not intended to be an investment advisory act. Please use your own judgment when deciding on the operation and lot size of the EA. Please be sure to back-test and forward-test the EA to confirm that it is operating properly in your environment.
Time zone setting
Please make sure that the Japanese time displayed on the chart when the EA is applied matches the actual time in Japan.
This EA is designed to automatically calculate Japan time by determining the time zone of the broker's server. The time is automatically calculated even when daylight saving time is applied.
Number of charts to be displayed
Please set the number of charts to 5000 or more in the MT4 settings, as the system may not work properly if the number of charts to be displayed is too small.
Cautions for back testing
This EA calculates time by acquiring information on the broker's server, so please be sure to use it while logged in to the broker's server, even during back testing. Also, since the time zone cannot be accurately determined during back testing, the EA is designed to run in GMT+0 (no daylight saving time setting). Please validate using historical data in GMT+0 during back testing.
Handling of US holidays and Saturdays
By default, even if the U.S. is on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, trading will be performed if it falls on a Japanese 50th day of the week. However, it is possible to set whether or not entry is allowed when the U.S. falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday in the EA parameters.
Compound interest setting
We do not plan to offer a compound interest setting for this EA (unless requested by many users). The reason is that this EA is not a high winning rate type, but is designed to gradually increase assets while repeatedly winning and losing, with a winning rate of about 60% and a risk reward ratio of about 1.2. The author believes that the most important thing in Forex is not to lose money. For example, when considering only the winning rate, the possibility of losing three times in a row is (0.4)^3≒6.4%, and the possibility of losing four times in a row is (0.4)^4≒2.5%. In other words, it is possible to lose 3~4 times in a row with the same probability as encountering Pikachu in the Tokiwa Forest. If you operate with compound interest, you can greatly increase your assets when you win consecutively, but when you lose consecutively, you may lose all your assets at once and have to exit the market. It is the author's wish that users will gradually increase their assets without exiting the market.
The situation in which this EA is not good at
As stated above, this EA will lose its time advantage when price fluctuations exceed actual demand. For this reason, if you are concerned about a major event such as the FOMC meeting, for example, it is a good idea to stop operation.
Recommended trading lot At 25x leverage, the margin requirement per lot (100,000 currency) is 520,000 yen at 130 yen per dollar. Furthermore, the maximum stop loss (100 pips) is 100,000 yen/lot per trade if the default settings are left as they are, and the maximum DD is 460,000 yen/lot between 2003~2022. Therefore, the limit is 1.0 lot per 1,000,000 yen at most, and the user can increase or decrease the number of lots based on his/her allowable risk.
...positions across the week. This EA does not trade across weeks. Entry and exit times This EA is initially set to the author's recommended trading hours, but the parameters can be changed as needed. However, if the buy exit time is later than the sell entry time (for example, the buy exit time is 10:00 and the sell entry time is 9:55), the logic will not allow both positions to be held, so the sell trade will not be executed. If the position holding times overlap, display two charts, change the magic numbers, and set two EAs to trade only the buy and sell positions, respectively. Currency Pair Only USD/JPY is supported. GoGoJungle Demo Forward Test Settings We operate with the default settings. We will trade even if the U.S. is on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday.

Just like discretionary trading, there are those that decide trading and settlement timings by combining indicators, those that repeatedly buy or sell at certain price (pips) intervals, and trading methods that utilize market anomalies or temporal features. The variety is as rich as the methods in discretionary trading.
To categorize simply,
・Scalping (Type where trades are completed within a few minutes to a few hours),
・Day Trading (Type where trades are completed within several hours to about a day),
・Swing Trading (Type where trades are conducted over a relatively long period of about 1 day to 1 week)
・Grid/Martingale Trading (Holding multiple positions at equal or unequal intervals and settling all once a profit is made. Those that gradually increase the lot number are called Martingale.)
・Anomaly EA (Mid-price trading, early morning scalping)
However, a substantial advantage of automated trading is its ability to limit and predict risks beforehand.
[Risk]
Inherent to forex trading are the trading risks that undeniably exist in automated trading as well.
・Lot Size Risk
Increasing the lot size forcibly due to a high winning rate can, in rare instances, depending on the EA, lead to substantial Pips loss when a loss occurs. It is crucial to verify the SL Pips and the number of positions held before operating with an appropriate lot.
・Rapid Market Fluctuation Risk
There are instances where market prices fluctuate rapidly due to index announcements or unforeseen news. System trading does not account for such unpredictable market movements, rendering it incapable of making decisions on whether to settle in advance or abstain from trading. As a countermeasure, utilizing tools that halt the EA based on indicator announcements or the VIX (fear index) is also possible.
[Benefits]
・Operates 24 hours a day
If there is an opportunity, system trading will execute trades on your behalf consistently. It proves to be an extremely convenient tool for those unable to allocate time to trading.
・Trades dispassionately without being swayed by emotions
There is an absence of self-serving rule modifications, a common human tendency, such as increasing the lot size after consecutive losses in discretionary trading or, conversely, hastily securing profits with minimal gains.
・Accessible for beginners
To engage in Forex trading, there is no prerequisite to study; anyone using system trading will achieve the same results.
[Disadvantages]
・Cannot increase trading frequency at will
Since system trading operates based on pre-programmed conditions, depending on the type of EA, it might only execute trades a few times a month.
・Suitability may vary with market conditions
Depending on the trading type of the EA, there are periods more suited to trend trading and periods more suited to contrarian trading, making consistent results across all periods unlikely. While the previous year might have yielded good results, this year's performance might not be as promising, necessitating some level of discretion in determining whether it is an opportune time to operate.
・MT4 (MetaTrader 4. An account needs to be opened with a Forex company that offers MT4.)
・EA (A program for automated trading)
・The operating deposit required to run the EA
・A PC that can run 24 hours or a VPS (Virtual Private Server), where a virtual PC is hosted on a cloud server to run MT4.
Additionally, there are both demo and real accounts available. You can experience trading with virtual money by applying for a demo account. After opening a real account, you select the connection server assigned by the Forex broker, enter the password, and log in to the account.
When you deposit money into your account using the method specified by the forex broker, the funds will be reflected in your MT4 account, and you can trade.
Firstly, download the purchased EA file from your My Page on GogoJungle. You will download a zip (compressed) file, so right-click to extract it and retrieve the file named ‘◯◯◯ (EA name)_A19GAw09 (any 8 alphanumeric characters).ex4’ from inside.
Next, launch MT4 and navigate to ‘File’ → ‘Open Data Folder’ → ‘MQL4’ → ‘Experts’ folder, and place the ex4 file inside. Once done, close MT4 and restart it. Then, go to the upper menu ‘Tools’ → ‘Options’, and under ‘Expert Advisors’, ensure ‘Allow automated trading’ and ‘Allow DLL imports’ are checked, then press OK to close.
The necessary currency pair and time frame for the correct operation of the EA are specified on the EA sales page. Refer to this information and open the chart of the correct currency pair time frame (e.g., USDJPY5M for a USD/Yen 5-minute chart).
Within the menu navigator, under ‘Expert Advisors’, you will find the EA file name you placed earlier. Click to select it, then drag & drop it directly onto the chart to load the EA. Alternatively, you can double-click the EA name to load it onto the selected chart.
If ‘Authentication Success’ appears in the upper left of the chart, the authentication has been successful. To operate the EA, you need to keep your PC running 24 hours. Therefore, either disable the automatic sleep function or host MT4 on a VPS and operate the EA.
If you want to use it with an account other than the authenticated one, you need to reset the registered account.
To reset the account, close the MT4 where the Web authentication is registered, then go to My Page on GogoJungle > Use > Digital Contents > the relevant EA > press the ‘Reset’ button for the registration number, and the registered account will be released.
When the account is in a reset state, using the EA with another MT4 account will register a new account.
Also, you can reset the account an unlimited number of times.
→ Items to Check When EA is Not Operating
1 lot = 100,000 currency units
0.1 lot = 10,000 currency units
0.01 lot = 1,000 currency units
For USD/JPY, 1 lot would mean holding 100,000 dollars.
The margin required to hold lots is determined by the leverage set by the Forex broker.
If the leverage is 25 times, the margin required to hold 10,000 currency units of USD/JPY would be:
10000*109 (※ at a rate of 109 yen per dollar) ÷ 25 = 43,600 yen.
・Risk-Return Ratio: Total Profit and Loss during the period ÷ Maximum Drawdown
・Maximum Drawdown: The largest unrealized loss during the operation period
・Maximum Position Number: This is the maximum number of positions that the EA can theoretically hold at the same time
・TP (Take Profit): The set profit-taking Pips (or specified amount, etc.) in the EA's settings
・SL (Stop Loss): The set maximum loss pips (or specified amount, etc.) in the EA's settings
・Trailing Stop: Instead of settling at a specified Pips, once a certain profit is made, the settlement SL is raised at a certain interval (towards the profit), maximizing the profit. It is a method of settlement.
・Risk-Reward Ratio (Payoff Ratio): Average Profit ÷ Average Loss
・Hedging: Holding both buy and sell positions simultaneously (Some FX companies also have types where hedging is not allowed)
