Overview

A day trading EA that trades during certain hours in Tokyo and London time, designed for small losses and large profits.

Added technical filters to the scheduled logic. It has a good portfolio compatibility with pure technical EAs.

This is a same-day completion type that does not carry positions over to the next day, not only on weekends and year-end but also on other days. It does not rely on unstable server 0 times (winter GMT+2) and is designed to minimize broker discrepancies by using scheduled entry based on the opening price of a confirmed candle.

From version 4.2, the logic has been significantly revised and enhanced. The logic for short trades, which had more losses, has been reviewed, and new logic has been introduced to replace the underperforming mid-month trades. User parameters have been expanded, allowing logic-specific operation switching and TP/SL changes as requested. Backtests have also been updated in line with the logic changes.

Recommended Accounts

The recommended accounts fulfill as many of the following conditions as possible.

  • 5 daily candles[Required from version4.2onwards]
  • No requotes or off quotes
  • Average USDJPY spread below 1.5 pips. If the spread at MT4 time 1:00 is too high, entry may not occur depending on the allowable spread setting.

Specifications

Each value is a theoretical value based on backtesting.

  • No grid, no martingale, no hedging
  • Positions are closed on the same day without carrying over to the next day. If the rate is not distributed at the scheduled closing time, the position will not close properly.
  • No weekend carryover. No trades from December 23 to January 3 at year-end and New Year.
  • Entry and exit are generally at the opening price.
  • Average monthly trade count: 9.8 trades
  • Average trade duration: 5 hours 55 minutes
  • TP/SL: Set by logic, can be changed.
  • Recovery Factor TRF (total for the period): 46.27 | YRF (annualized): 2.24

Parameters/Chart Comments

Items in 【】 are chart comment items. Chart comments may vary in display intervals depending on monitor resolution.

  • Magic Number 【Magic】| This is the identification number of the EA. Set it differently from other EAs. Always change it when setting a different version.
  • Lot 【Lots】 | Lots for simple interest operation. The default is not a recommended value.
  • Risk %【()】 | This is the ratio of loss of the maximum StopLoss value against "Free Margin", "Balance", or "Balance + Credit". Calculation formula | Free Margin (or Balance) × Risk % ÷ (Maximum SL value × Yen conversion) = Compound Interest Lot Example | Setting "Free Margin", Free Margin 1 million yen, SL 90, Risk 9.0% setting, 1.00 lot Calculation example | 1,000,000 [Free Margin 1 million yen] × 0.09 [Risk 9%] ÷ (90 [SL value] × 1,000 [Yen conversion]) = 1.00 [lot]
  • Compound Function 【MM】 | Money Management Function. Can be selected from three options. Each number corresponds to the number in the chart comment notation. 0: Simple interest/fixed | Choose this "simple interest" if you operate with a fixed lot. 1: Compound interest/free margin | This method calculates the lot by setting the % of maximum loss against "Free Margin". 2: Compound interest/balance | This method calculates the lot by setting the % of maximum loss against "Balance". 3: Compound interest/balance + credit | This method calculates the lot by setting the % of maximum loss against "Balance + Credit". In backtests for each compound interest, the value is read with a provisional calculation, so there may be a discrepancy in lot calculation compared to actual operation.
  • Summertime 【Summertime】 | Select according to the securities account you use from 0: None / 1: US style / 2: UK style.
  • Allowed Spread Pips 【Sp Lim/Ave】 | Lim: Allowed set spread pips. It becomes automatic at "0". Ave: When "0" is automatically set, the spread is measured internally and the average value is displayed.
  • Allowed Slippage | The unit is Point (1 Point = 0.1 Pips).
  • Notification Comment | A comment inserted in notifications at the time of order. If it disappears or exceeds 32 characters, the chart comment display turns red.
  • Date Control | When you enter the specified operating date, it will operate only on that day. Enter separated by half-width commas ",". If all lines are blank, no trading will occur. Default buy | Valid only on 8~10, 13~15, 18~20, 22~31 Default sell | Valid only on 3~5, 8~10, 13~15, 18~20, 23~30 If you specify dates not in these defaults, trading will not occur. Please select from the default available days when specifying.
  • Logic-specific Parameters | Operation Switch 【Logic_~】 | Operates with true. Profit Target/Stop Loss 【TP/SL】 | The default values are optimized values. Can be changed according to the situation. The maximum SL value set here is used for lot calculation in compound interest. Buy 1 and Sell 1 are improved based on the logic of the previous version. Buy 2 and Sell 2 are new logics added from version 4.2. Trail 【Modify】 | Operates with true. This is a trailing function added in version 4.4. Operates only with the Buy 1 logic. Every time a candlestick appears, if there is an increase in unrealized profit, the stop loss moves while maintaining the pips width of the stop loss set with 【Buy 1】 stop loss.

【Chart Comment Display Only】

  • EA Status Display | Displays the set status of the EA in color. Not linked to account authentication.
  • Spread Lim/Ave | "Lim" is the set spread (automatically calculated in auto mode), "Ave" displays the internally measured average spread.
  • Trade Counts | The number of trades for this EA displayed in the MT4 trade history.
  • Profit (pips) | Also the pips in the displayed trade history.
  • Profit Factor | Also the profit factor in the displayed trade history.
  • RRR/Win% | Also the risk-reward ratio and win rate in the displayed trade history.

【Other Functions】
  • Automatic Chart Set (from version 4.6) | Drag & drop the EA onto any FX currency chart, and it will automatically switch to the USDJPY/H1 chart and change the colors when set.
  • State Display ON/OFF Switch Button | The display changes every time you click the rectangle at the top right of the chart.
  • Chart Changes When Error Occurs | If trading cannot proceed, the chart screen's color will change to a darker shade.
  • Trade History Display on Chart | When a trade is executed, trade lines and gained pips are displayed on the chart.
  • Chart Center Information | The upper row shows the symbol, the lower left shows the timeframe, and the right shows the current spread in pips.
  • Magic Number Duplication Alert | An alert sounds if the same magic number is set multiple times in the same MT4 (from version 5.2 onwards). Depending on the situation, it may not detect duplicates.

【Auto Spread Function】
  • When "0" is set in the parameters, it compares the internally measured average value with the spread average at MT4 time 1:00, and sets the larger value as the standard.
  • To prepare for sharp increases in the morning, the maximum value is internally set to 8.0 pips.
  • Immediately after installation, the value may be inappropriate due to an undefined average value or unmeasured morning values.
  • Manual settings can be fixed to the input value by entering a value other than "0" in the parameters.
  • Measurements accumulate data internally, causing slight lag in long-term operation without restarting. The accumulated data is reset upon restarting MT4 or monthly.
  • The auto spread function does not work in backtests.
  • It does not update if the chart is stopped.
  • If the value does not change from 8.0 etc., even on weekdays, re-setting the EA from drag & drop may improve the situation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Why do behaviors differ between brokers?

Different brokers provide different feed rates, so behavior differences will inevitably occur.

It is a symptom where one broker makes an entry and another does not. This EA also performs technical judgments, so discrepancies often occur where signals light up or do not depending on the feed rate.

Q2. It doesn't enter a trade

If the face at the top right of the chart is not smiling, please review your settings.

If it is smiling, please wait until late in the month. The average trade count of this EA is about 10 times per month, with relatively active trades occurring in the latter part of the month. Additionally, the logic from version 4.2 onwards may enter trades during the spread expansion at MT4 time 1:00. If the allowable spread is narrow, entries at 1:00 may be restricted.

Q3. How does the compound interest backtest look?
It looks like the following. Tested with a risk of 9.0% so that the initial lot matches the default lot of simple interest.
Performance and measurement values fluctuate more than simple interest, and there is a larger discrepancy from actual operation, so please take it as a reference.

Q4. I made an entry, but it's not trading in the published forward. Is this correct?
This is a common everyday occurrence. It can be said for all EAs that trades will vary depending on account environment and communication environment, etc.

Complete consistency cannot be expected, so please understand this when operating.

Days not included in the parameter's date control default value will not trade whether specified or not. Also, this EA enters at a scheduled time of 00 minutes. The scheduled time of 00 minutes often sees sharp price movements and slippage, making it difficult for orders to go through. Additionally, since it performs technical judgments, such trade and performance differences will inevitably occur.

Since it performs technical judgments, such trade and performance differences will inevitably occur.

Q5. What does the 1,000 [Yen conversion] mean in compound interest calculations? Should it always be 1,000? 1000 [Yen conversion] is a conversion coefficient for calculation.Internally, it is more complex and difficult to understand, so it was expressed simply. In this EA, it is okay to calculate with 1000 every time.【Explanation】 Contract size of USDJPY (quantity of 1 lot) is 100,000 currencies. SL of 90 pips converts to yen for contract size (1 lot) as follows, 0.900 (90 pips rate notation) × 100,000 (contract size currency) × 1 (lot) = 90,000 (yen) 90 pips = 90,000 yen 1 pips = 1000 yen Thus, to convert pips to yen, multiply by 1000. This is what [Yen conversion] means.Q6. SL values differ by logic, but do compound interest lots change by logic? For compound interest, it is calculated using the maximum SL among the settings of each logic. If the SL values are 90, 80, 80, 30 by logic, the lot calculated with the maximum of 90 is applied to all logics. SL values of logics set to false are also referenced to determine the maximum SL.

Q7. Entries and exits occurred consecutively. Is this correct? This is abnormal. Version 4.7 prevents consecutive entries. This issue may occur if different versions of this EA are set with the same magic number. For example, if versions 4.6 and 3.2 are set with the same magic number at the same time, an abnormality may occur where version 4.6 enters at MT4 time 1:00 and version 3.2 exits immediately after, repeatedly.

Q8. I want to avoid the heaviness in version 5.2.

If you are concerned, please consider setting the old version 4.7. The logic is exactly the same. To lighten version 5.2, setting the spread manually without using the auto spread function reduces the heaviness.Internally, order-related processes are prioritized, and each usability process is handled afterwards. Upon checking the status from the taskbar during operation, no significant changes were observed in CPU and Memory between the previous version and 5.2. Even if there is a change, it is considered minor. Since it may vary depending on the environment and capacity, those concerned should check in their own environment.

Q9. The lot display in chart comments is incorrect.

From version 5.2, the processing of chart comments is slightly delayed. The processing priority is lowered. Many processes are performed internally during the initial setup, so immediately after setup, it is anticipated that symptoms such as chart comments not displaying correctly or charts not switching properly may rarely occur. In such cases, re-setting or restarting may improve the situation, so please try it.

Q10. Magic number duplication alert is being falsely detected.

This is an unavoidable symptom due to the specifications of MT4. If there is no suspicion of duplication, deleting the alert message and setting it will allow it to operate without issues. There was an accident due to duplication previously, and although incomplete, we implemented the alert. We apologize for the concern and appreciate your understanding.

                          About Forex Automated Trading
Forex Automated Trading refers to trading that is automated through programming, incorporating predetermined trading and settlement rules. There are various methods to conduct automated trading, but at GogoJungle, we deal with Experts Advisors (hereinafter referred to as EA) that operate on a trading platform called MT4.
There are various types of EAs (Expert Advisors) for different trading types that can be used on MT4.
Just like discretionary trading, there are those that decide trading and settlement timings by combining indicators, those that repeatedly buy or sell at certain price (pips) intervals, and trading methods that utilize market anomalies or temporal features. The variety is as rich as the methods in discretionary trading.

                          To categorize simply,
・Scalping (Type where trades are completed within a few minutes to a few hours),
・Day Trading (Type where trades are completed within several hours to about a day),
・Swing Trading (Type where trades are conducted over a relatively long period of about 1 day to 1 week)
・Grid/Martingale Trading (Holding multiple positions at equal or unequal intervals and settling all once a profit is made. Those that gradually increase the lot number are called Martingale.)
・Anomaly EA (Mid-price trading, early morning scalping)

When engaging in Forex, there are risks in automated trading just as there are in discretionary trading.
However, a substantial advantage of automated trading is its ability to limit and predict risks beforehand.

                          [Risk]
Inherent to forex trading are the trading risks that undeniably exist in automated trading as well.
                          ・Lot Size Risk
Increasing the lot size forcibly due to a high winning rate can, in rare instances, depending on the EA, lead to substantial Pips loss when a loss occurs. It is crucial to verify the SL Pips and the number of positions held before operating with an appropriate lot.

                          ・Rapid Market Fluctuation Risk
There are instances where market prices fluctuate rapidly due to index announcements or unforeseen news. System trading does not account for such unpredictable market movements, rendering it incapable of making decisions on whether to settle in advance or abstain from trading. As a countermeasure, utilizing tools that halt the EA based on indicator announcements or the VIX (fear index) is also possible.

                          [Benefits]
                          ・Operates 24 hours a day
If there is an opportunity, system trading will execute trades on your behalf consistently. It proves to be an extremely convenient tool for those unable to allocate time to trading.

・Trades dispassionately without being swayed by emotions
There is an absence of self-serving rule modifications, a common human tendency, such as increasing the lot size after consecutive losses in discretionary trading or, conversely, hastily securing profits with minimal gains.

                          ・Accessible for beginners
To engage in Forex trading, there is no prerequisite to study; anyone using system trading will achieve the same results.

                          [Disadvantages]
・Cannot increase trading frequency at will
Since system trading operates based on pre-programmed conditions, depending on the type of EA, it might only execute trades a few times a month.

・Suitability may vary with market conditions
Depending on the trading type of the EA, there are periods more suited to trend trading and periods more suited to contrarian trading, making consistent results across all periods unlikely. While the previous year might have yielded good results, this year's performance might not be as promising, necessitating some level of discretion in determining whether it is an opportune time to operate.
The requirements for operating automated trading (EA) on MT4 are as follows:
・MT4 (MetaTrader 4. An account needs to be opened with a Forex company that offers MT4.)
・EA (A program for automated trading)
・The operating deposit required to run the EA
・A PC that can run 24 hours or a VPS (Virtual Private Server), where a virtual PC is hosted on a cloud server to run MT4.
If you open an account with a forex broker that supports MT4, you can use MT4 as provided by that forex broker. MT4 is a stand-alone type of software that needs to be installed on your computer, so you download the program file from the website of the FX company where you opened the account and install it on your computer.

Additionally, there are both demo and real accounts available. You can experience trading with virtual money by applying for a demo account. After opening a real account, you select the connection server assigned by the Forex broker, enter the password, and log in to the account.
When you deposit money into your account using the method specified by the forex broker, the funds will be reflected in your MT4 account, and you can trade.
To set up an EA when you purchase it through GogoJungle, follow the steps below:
Firstly, download the purchased EA file from your My Page on GogoJungle. You will download a zip (compressed) file, so right-click to extract it and retrieve the file named ‘◯◯◯ (EA name)_A19GAw09 (any 8 alphanumeric characters).ex4’ from inside.

Next, launch MT4 and navigate to ‘File’ → ‘Open Data Folder’ → ‘MQL4’ → ‘Experts’ folder, and place the ex4 file inside. Once done, close MT4 and restart it. Then, go to the upper menu ‘Tools’ → ‘Options’, and under ‘Expert Advisors’, ensure ‘Allow automated trading’ and ‘Allow DLL imports’ are checked, then press OK to close.

The necessary currency pair and time frame for the correct operation of the EA are specified on the EA sales page. Refer to this information and open the chart of the correct currency pair time frame (e.g., USDJPY5M for a USD/Yen 5-minute chart).

Within the menu navigator, under ‘Expert Advisors’, you will find the EA file name you placed earlier. Click to select it, then drag & drop it directly onto the chart to load the EA. Alternatively, you can double-click the EA name to load it onto the selected chart.

If ‘Authentication Success’ appears in the upper left of the chart, the authentication has been successful. To operate the EA, you need to keep your PC running 24 hours. Therefore, either disable the automatic sleep function or host MT4 on a VPS and operate the EA.
EAs from GogoJungle can be used with one real account and one demo account per EA.
If you want to use it with an account other than the authenticated one, you need to reset the registered account.

To reset the account, close the MT4 where the Web authentication is registered, then go to My Page on GogoJungle > Use > Digital Contents > the relevant EA > press the ‘Reset’ button for the registration number, and the registered account will be released.

When the account is in a reset state, using the EA with another MT4 account will register a new account.
Also, you can reset the account an unlimited number of times.
If you encounter an error with Web authentication, or if the EA is trading on GogoJungle's forward performance page but not on your own account, there could be various reasons. For more details, please refer to the following link:
→ Items to Check When EA is Not Operating
In Forex trading, the size of a lot is usually:

                          1 lot = 100,000 currency units
                          0.1 lot = 10,000 currency units
                          0.01 lot = 1,000 currency units

For USD/JPY, 1 lot would mean holding 100,000 dollars.
The margin required to hold lots is determined by the leverage set by the Forex broker.
If the leverage is 25 times, the margin required to hold 10,000 currency units of USD/JPY would be:
                          10000*109 (※ at a rate of 109 yen per dollar) ÷ 25 = 43,600 yen.
・Profit Factor: Total Profit ÷ Total Loss
