Version 4.00 released September 8, 2017
Version Upgrade Contents
1,Major modifications to the trade engine.
For details of version 4.00, please refer to the following page.
"Emerald" version 4.00 is now in test operation.
For those who purchased from fx-on, please wait for fx-on to contact you.
When we can determine that "Emerald" is profitable enough, we plan to revise the price.
***********Notice: ***********
Several customers have reported that "Emerald.dll" is trapped by their security software.
Emerald.dll" is strongly protected and may be misjudged as such.
In this case, please remove the "Emerald.dll" directory from the search target of your security software.
Emerald" is a scalping EA with advanced trading logic.
Please take a look at the development progress on our website. We also publish the results of real accounts and various operating environments (overseas VPS, domestic VPS, our own PC, etc.).
The current version of this EA is recommended by OANDA Pro Course, but AXIORY, Titan FX, and other FX companies may also be promising.
"Scalping EA "Emerald" trade results are now available.
"MT4 EA "Emerald" test operation started
The back-test results posted on fx-on are the results of 99.90% modeling quality test using Ducascopy's Tick data.
*Since there is a limit of 5MB file size that can be uploaded, we have uploaded approximately six months worth of data. The profit/loss graphs on this page are for two years, except as specified.
In addition, when tested with regular all ticks, the result is a profit factor of 6.35 for a period of 2 years.
*Backtesting with normal all ticks is not very helpful for scalping like this EA because of the pseudo ticks.
Test result of normal all ticks

Emerald" features
Profit from any currency pair
You can make a profit with any currency pair, as long as the spread is small. However, as the EA has been in real trading since the beginning of March 2017, its track record remains to be seen.
As we have explained that it is an EA that is sensitive to spreads, we recommend trading the USD/JPY, which has a high liquidity and a spread of less than 1 pips. If the spread is narrower, the EUR/JPY will also perform well, and the EUR/USD may also be tradable, although its performance will be slightly inferior.
This feature of making a profit regardless of the currency is based on the specifications (guidelines) established at the development stage to avoid "over-optimization (curve fitting).
In other words, "Since EA is a technical analysis, there must be commonality in the trading logic for any currency. In other words, "As an EA is a technical analysis, there should be commonality in the trading logic for any currency," and limiting the number of trading currencies is likely to lead to "over-optimization (curve fitting). This is the reason why EA is based on the recognition that "curve-fitting" is a common practice in the market.
The back-test results for each currency are shown below.
Emerald" supports compounding, but the results are shown for a fixed amount of 0.1 lot to make it easier to understand the progress along the way.

Very easy to set up
The information necessary for trading is automatically obtained from the currency pairs traded, so there is almost nothing to get lost in setting up the system. Stop-loss and profit-taking prices are calculated by "Emerald. You can start trading with the default settings and do not need to spend time on optimization.
Change in Trade Engine Characteristics
Starting with version 4.00, the characteristics of the trade engine can be selected from "Basic", "Special", and "All".
The "Basic" is the default setting and will primarily use MT4's predefined variables, which will be adjusted to reduce differences in performance between accounts. In addition, the profit factor will be inferior to "Special", but it will feature less drawdowns.
Special" is a setting in which trades are made based on a detailed assessment of Tick movements. While the profit factor is the highest, the drawdown is slightly lower than "Basic" and the number of trades is also lower. It is probably not suitable for accounts with missing ticks, and there is a greater chance of incorrect trades being made on slow PCs and VPSs.
All" is a mixture of "Basic" and "Special". As a result, it has the highest number of trades, but the profit factor is lower than "Basic" and "Special".
Special Mode Currency Pair USDJPY (USD/JPY)
Period 1 minute (M1) 2015.01.12 - 2017.01.10 (spread 1 pips modeling quality 99.90% test results)

information display
Have you ever been worried that your EA does not start to trade? Or maybe this EA is broken...
With Emerald, you don't need to worry about such things. The status of the trade engine is displayed in real time in the upper left corner of the chart. This is a fun feature that allows you to see the status of your trades quickly and safely.
About the trade engine status display
Levels change as follows based on the judgment of the trade engine.
Level 0: Neither buy nor sell is suitable.
Level1 Watching: The price is moving a little, but is not suitable for buying or selling.
Level 2 Investigating: The market is somewhat approaching the state where orders will be placed.
Level 3 Under Consideration: The market will soon be ready to place an order.
Setting input assist function
If there is an obvious incompleteness in an entry item on the settings screen, it will be displayed on the information screen.
Example: If the maximum leverage of a trading account is 25x and 30 is entered in the "Trading Leverage" field. The information screen will display the following message: "Please enter a number in half-width characters that is greater than 0 and less than 25 for 'Trading Leverage'. will be displayed.
If the maximum leverage is 25x and you enter 12.5 or more in the "Trading Leverage" field, a warning message will appear.
Stop loss/close function
This is a new feature since version 1.40. You can now set the number of times the spread will close a position when the spread becomes more than the "Stop Trade Spread". It can also be set to not be used.
Function to change the spread judgment period
Emerald" does not use a pinpoint price to determine the spread filter, but rather examines the spread at the peak of a certain period of time to determine whether or not to enter the market.
This period can be changed starting from version 1.20.
You can select "shortest," "short," "medium," "long," or "longest." Select "longest" if you want to trade carefully, or "short" or "shortest" if you do not want to miss any opportunities.
This feature is also in the process of being tested in real trades.
Precautions for using "Emerald
Use an FX company with a narrow spread.
This is a scalping EA, so it is very sensitive to spreads. It may be possible to make a profit even with a spread of 2 pips, but we recommend that you use a trading firm with a spread of 1 pips or less.
*The performance will vary depending on the execution power (latency) and the PC environment you are using.
Emerald" is equipped with a "peak spread determination function. This function is different from the "pinpoint spread determination function" used in general EAs, and is designed to respond to the violent spread fluctuations during indicator announcements and the like.
Results will vary depending on your environment.
Since this is a scalping EA, results will vary depending on the account and environment you are using. In addition to the spread, the speed of execution is also known to have a significant impact.
"Analyze the difference in operational performance of the Scalping EA "Emerald
Operate with a FX company with narrow stop and freeze levels.
Since you will be placing limit orders, a firm with a wide stop and freeze level is not suitable. You can expect poor performance from firms with stop and freeze levels of more than 1 pips.
Note that forex firms may display large spreads, but not stop and freeze levels, or they may treat them very poorly.
The stop and freeze levels are displayed in the "Emerald" information section, and if they are above 1.0, we recommend that you use another firm.
List of Stop Levels, Freeze Levels and Spreads
OANDA Japan Stop Level: 0 pips Spread: 0.8 pips (USD/JPY NY server)
Note: OANDA Japan Tokyo server is deprecated. The OANDA Japan Tokyo server is deprecated because it was confirmed that the spread was wide open in real trades.
Rakuten Securities MT4 Stop Level: 0 pips Spread: 0.5 pips (USD/JPY)
Although Rakuten Securities MT4 is recommended with a stop level of 0 pips, we have decided to mark it as "x" because it seems that the spread may open up easily. To be verified at a later date on the site.
Gaitame Finest Stop level: 0.1 pips Spread: 0.5 pips (USD/JPY)
Gaitame Finest has a stop level of 0.1 pips and a spread of 0.5 pips, which is narrow, but it performed worse than OANDA in the real account test, so we gave it a △ rating. To be verified at a later date on the site.
■× FOREX.com Stop level: 1.0 pips Spread: 1.5-2.1 pips (USD/JPY)
Also deprecated due to the wide spread of 1.5-2.1 pips (USD/JPY)
FX Trade Financial Stop level: 5 pips Spread: 0.3 pips (USD/JPY)
○ :Recommended △ :Not recommended × :Not
recommended
Please note that the market closes on non-weekend days.
We have logic that automatically closes positions a few hours before the market closes on weekends. However, on holidays such as Christmas Day and New Year's Day, this automatic position closing logic does not work. If you have positions open, close them manually and set the "Operational Settings" in the Settings screen to "Stop" so that you do not take any further positions.
Since this is a scalping EA and the stop loss is shallow, it is expected that you will often trade with relatively high leverage. Please be aware that you may incur large losses if you carry over a position when the market is closed and the market opens a window in the opposite direction of your position.
The win rate is not so high.
If you look at the backtest over a long period of time, it looks like the profits are increasing steadily, but if you look at it on a two-month basis, there are quite a few periods of sideways movement. The winning rate is probably going to be around 50%. However, "Emerald" has a shallow stop loss, so a 50% win rate will be enough to increase profits. Please do not judge it in a short period of time, but confirm it in an operational test of a few months or so.
fx-on forward test parameters
When using OANDA Japan in fx-on's forward test, double open positions are not available. Therefore, the forward test is conducted with the following settings, which do not allow both sides to open positions.
Because this is a scalping EA and the position holding period is short, there is not much difference in the results between "with" and "without" double-folding.

About Forex Automated Trading
What is Forex Automated Trading (MT4 EA)?
Forex Automated Trading refers to trading that is automated through programming, incorporating predetermined trading and settlement rules. There are various methods to conduct automated trading, but at GogoJungle, we deal with Experts Advisors (hereinafter referred to as EA) that operate on a trading platform called MT4.
Trading Types of Forex Automated Trading
There are various types of EAs (Expert Advisors) for different trading types that can be used on MT4.
Just like discretionary trading, there are those that decide trading and settlement timings by combining indicators, those that repeatedly buy or sell at certain price (pips) intervals, and trading methods that utilize market anomalies or temporal features. The variety is as rich as the methods in discretionary trading.
To categorize simply,
・Scalping (Type where trades are completed within a few minutes to a few hours),
・Day Trading (Type where trades are completed within several hours to about a day),
・Swing Trading (Type where trades are conducted over a relatively long period of about 1 day to 1 week)
・Grid/Martingale Trading (Holding multiple positions at equal or unequal intervals and settling all once a profit is made. Those that gradually increase the lot number are called Martingale.)
・Anomaly EA (Mid-price trading, early morning scalping)

Risks, Advantages, and Disadvantages of Forex Automated Trading
When engaging in Forex, there are risks in automated trading just as there are in discretionary trading.
However, a substantial advantage of automated trading is its ability to limit and predict risks beforehand.
[Risk]
Inherent to forex trading are the trading risks that undeniably exist in automated trading as well.
・Lot Size Risk
Increasing the lot size forcibly due to a high winning rate can, in rare instances, depending on the EA, lead to substantial Pips loss when a loss occurs. It is crucial to verify the SL Pips and the number of positions held before operating with an appropriate lot.
・Rapid Market Fluctuation Risk
There are instances where market prices fluctuate rapidly due to index announcements or unforeseen news. System trading does not account for such unpredictable market movements, rendering it incapable of making decisions on whether to settle in advance or abstain from trading. As a countermeasure, utilizing tools that halt the EA based on indicator announcements or the VIX (fear index) is also possible.
[Benefits]
・Operates 24 hours a day
If there is an opportunity, system trading will execute trades on your behalf consistently. It proves to be an extremely convenient tool for those unable to allocate time to trading.
・Trades dispassionately without being swayed by emotions
There is an absence of self-serving rule modifications, a common human tendency, such as increasing the lot size after consecutive losses in discretionary trading or, conversely, hastily securing profits with minimal gains.
・Accessible for beginners
To engage in Forex trading, there is no prerequisite to study; anyone using system trading will achieve the same results.
[Disadvantages]
・Cannot increase trading frequency at will
Since system trading operates based on pre-programmed conditions, depending on the type of EA, it might only execute trades a few times a month.
・Suitability may vary with market conditions
Depending on the trading type of the EA, there are periods more suited to trend trading and periods more suited to contrarian trading, making consistent results across all periods unlikely. While the previous year might have yielded good results, this year's performance might not be as promising, necessitating some level of discretion in determining whether it is an opportune time to operate.

Equipment and Environment Needed for Automated Trading Operation
The requirements for operating automated trading (EA) on MT4 are as follows:
・MT4 (MetaTrader 4. An account needs to be opened with a Forex company that offers MT4.)
・EA (A program for automated trading)
・The operating deposit required to run the EA
・A PC that can run 24 hours or a VPS (Virtual Private Server), where a virtual PC is hosted on a cloud server to run MT4.

Installation of MT4 and Account Login
If you open an account with a forex broker that supports MT4, you can use MT4 as provided by that forex broker. MT4 is a stand-alone type of software that needs to be installed on your computer, so you download the program file from the website of the FX company where you opened the account and install it on your computer.
Additionally, there are both demo and real accounts available. You can experience trading with virtual money by applying for a demo account. After opening a real account, you select the connection server assigned by the Forex broker, enter the password, and log in to the account.
When you deposit money into your account using the method specified by the forex broker, the funds will be reflected in your MT4 account, and you can trade.

How to Install EA on MT4
To set up an EA when you purchase it through GogoJungle, follow the steps below:
Firstly, download the purchased EA file from your My Page on GogoJungle. You will download a zip (compressed) file, so right-click to extract it and retrieve the file named ‘◯◯◯ (EA name)_A19GAw09 (any 8 alphanumeric characters).ex4’ from inside.
Next, launch MT4 and navigate to ‘File’ → ‘Open Data Folder’ → ‘MQL4’ → ‘Experts’ folder, and place the ex4 file inside. Once done, close MT4 and restart it. Then, go to the upper menu ‘Tools’ → ‘Options’, and under ‘Expert Advisors’, ensure ‘Allow automated trading’ and ‘Allow DLL imports’ are checked, then press OK to close.
The necessary currency pair and time frame for the correct operation of the EA are specified on the EA sales page. Refer to this information and open the chart of the correct currency pair time frame (e.g., USDJPY5M for a USD/Yen 5-minute chart).
Within the menu navigator, under ‘Expert Advisors’, you will find the EA file name you placed earlier. Click to select it, then drag & drop it directly onto the chart to load the EA. Alternatively, you can double-click the EA name to load it onto the selected chart.
If ‘Authentication Success’ appears in the upper left of the chart, the authentication has been successful. To operate the EA, you need to keep your PC running 24 hours. Therefore, either disable the automatic sleep function or host MT4 on a VPS and operate the EA.

About the Size of Trading Lots
In Forex trading, the size of a lot is usually:
1 lot = 100,000 currency units
0.1 lot = 10,000 currency units
0.01 lot = 1,000 currency units
For USD/JPY, 1 lot would mean holding 100,000 dollars.
The margin required to hold lots is determined by the leverage set by the Forex broker.
If the leverage is 25 times, the margin required to hold 10,000 currency units of USD/JPY would be:
10000*109 (※ at a rate of 109 yen per dollar) ÷ 25 = 43,600 yen.
