Is your PC okay? Mining virus "brt" "BRTSvc"
I am using an HP (Hewlett-Packard) laptop, but…
Recently, the PC’sfan noise has been loud?!
The PC is getting quite hot, isn’t it!?
So I thought, but actuallyit was a mining virusinstalled (;・`д・´)
When you turn on the PC, the cooling fan starts immediately and the PC starts to overheat.
What is making it so hot?!
Even when I contacted HP (Hewlett-Packard) Customer Center, there was no problem!
Among that, to check the current state of the PC, they told me to look at the “Task Manager”...

In particular, when you look at theCPU areaaround 30%.
However, if you leave the Task Manager open for about 5 minutes without touching anything, the CPU suddenly jumps into the 90% range!!
What had suddenly started running?

Programs that hadn’t appeared before suddenly showed up,the CPU was at full load!
When I tried to investigate or move the mouse, they suddenly disappeared…
Also, after leaving it alone for about 5 minutes, it starts moving again!
Upon checking, it turned out to be mining software.
I don’t remember installing it…
When I asked HP (Hewlett-Packard), they said, “brt” and suggested it might be related to “Trend Micro,”
Since I also use “Virus Buster” (Trend Micro), I contacted the company.
However, they said they couldn’t identify it as our program!
Further investigation revealedthat it is a Korean mining virus.
It is embedded in free software and installed during updates!
I was using a screen recording software called O-Cam to record my trading screens.
During its update, I unknowingly had a check mark set!!

In the red circle area, together with the O-Cam setup,BRT software gets installed.
Therefore, if I had unchecked this, there wouldn’t have been a problem… I didn’t realize it.
So, by uninstalling the corresponding program,

uninstalling the software in the red frame resolves the issue!
The trouble with this virus software is thatit runs quietly when you are not operating the PC!
Even checking with Task Manager, if you don’t interact for a few minutes, it won’t show up!
Also, it hides as soon as you interact!
It can bypass antivirus software!
Also, traders often do not operate their PCs while watching charts, waiting for timing…
A favorable condition for mining viruses!
Thus, it seems they are embedding the virus into free software that traders might use!
Trader PCs become the target!
Why not run a check yourself?
