In this leadership contest, the field is narrowed to two through a process by MPs, and the final decision will be made by a postal vote of 124,000 Conservative Party members.

June 10 “Nomination Deadline”

10:00 (Japan time 18:00) – 17:00 (Japan time 25:00)

・Requires endorsements from at least 8 Conservative MPs

June 13 “First MPs' Vote”

Voting 18:00–20:00 Japan time, results announced at 21:00

・Requires at least 17 MPs’ votes

・If votes received are 16 or fewer, the candidate is eliminated

June 16 “Candidate Debate”

・Televised by TV

June 17 “Nomination Withdrawal Deadline”

・Candidates who are not expected to reach 33 votes in the next MPs’ vote may withdraw on their own

June 18 “Second MPs' Vote”

Voting 23:00–翌1:00 Japan time, results announced at 2:00

・Requires at least 33 Conservative MPs’ votes

・If 32 or fewer votes are received, the candidate is eliminated

June 19 “Nomination Withdrawal Deadline”

Deadline 4:00 AM Japan time on the 19th

・After the results of the second MPs’ vote are announced, even if not eliminated, candidates may withdraw by 4:00

June 19 “Candidate Debate Schedule”

London time afternoon (Japan time around 19:00–22:00)

・Scheduled to be broadcast on BBC One

June 19 “Third MPs' Vote”

Voting 23:00–翌1:00 Japan time, results announced at 2:00

・Vote if the second MPs’ vote did not determine the outcome

June 20 “Nomination Withdrawal Deadline”

Deadline 4:00 AM Japan time on the 20th

・After the results of the third MPs’ vote are announced, even if not eliminated, candidates may withdraw by 4:00

June 20 “Fourth and Fifth MPs' Votes”

Fourth vote: 18:00–20:00 Japan time, results at 21:00

Fifth vote: 23:30–翌1:30 Japan time, results at 2:00

・If, in the third vote, two candidates have not been narrowed down to two, MPs will vote in the third and fourth rounds until two candidates remain

June 22 onward “Conservative Party Members’ Final Vote”

From June 22, a debate between the two candidates is planned on BBC, SKY, ITV, etc.

・After there are two candidates, 124,000 Conservative Party members across the UK will vote in a final poll

・Postal voting takes time

July 22 “Results Announcement”

・Expected to announce the result of the postal vote by Conservative members
