[Thinking Power] President Trump's visit to Japan and the USD/JPY exchange rate
Hello, this is the administrator of Nikkei OP Trader.
Thank you very much for visiting this blog.
I would like to provide information that can be of help to everyone, so please continue to support us.
Now, the theme this time isPresident Trump’s Visit to Japan and the USD/JPY Exchange Rate.
President Trump will visit Japan on Sunday, November 5.
He is scheduled to stay until Tuesday, the 7th.
Therefore, I would like to share what the administrator is thinking.
☆ The dollar-yen on the eve of Mr. Trump’s inauguration is 114.84 yen per dollar
☆ Mr. Trump is generally pursuing a weaker-dollar policy.
Therefore,it is unlikely that, right before or during the visit to Japan, the rate will slip beyond this level and the USD will strengthen against the yen.
If this level is breached, Japan will have to brace for substantial expenditures toward the U.S., such as for the Osprey.
President Trump is a businessman.
This is also a negative for Japan.
Thus, next week, the dollar may not rise and the yen may not weaken easily.
⇒ Therefore, unless predicted EPS grows, only short-covering by sellers will push the Nikkei average higher.
Personally, I think there is an interesting opportunity to go short if aiming to move the Nikkei Average.
Note) The above reflects my personal views and is intended only to enhance financial literacy. Therefore, it was not created for investment solicitation. The final investment decisions must be made at your own risk.
