Return to the 29,000 yen range
The Nikkei Stock Average continued to rise.
The closing level above 29,000 for the first time in six trading days since June 17.
In the morning, with President Biden’s agreement with a bipartisan group on an infrastructure investment plan on the local 24th,
the three major U.S. stock indices all rose, fueling buying pressure.
Immediately after the opening, it rose to 29,174 yen (up 298 yen from the previous day).
After a round of price gains, it stalled on the way up and was pushed back to around 28,992 yen (up 117 yen) at one point.
In the early afternoon, it was pulled back to the 29,100 yen range, and traded with heavy upside toward the close.
The Mothers Index rose for the fourth consecutive day.
In a steady week-end market, Mercari <4385> [currently 5,960 yen +330 yen] continued its ascent, helping to support the index.
