Ends near the high price range
Nikkei Stock Average rebounded sharply for the first time in five business days.

It rose to the 28,700 yen range, and although it paused as selling to take profits emerged, buying sentiment remained strong and the gains expanded.

The Mothers Index also rebounded for the first time in five days.
