The Nikkei Stock Average declined for the first time in three days.
In the morning, with U.S. long-term interest rates rising, selling led the fall following the three-day slide in U.S. stocks.
With some futures selling, the decline widened, briefly dropping to 28,764 yen (29.3 yen lower than the previous close).
After the first round of transactions, the downside narrowed, and just after the afternoon session began, it retraced to 28,991 yen (66 yen lower).
However, investors stayed cautious ahead of the U.S. May jobs data to be released on the 4th local time.
The Mothers Index fell as well.
With the weekend approaching, buying was hard to come by, and the market trended downward steadily.
