Declined after six days
Nikkei Stock Average fell for the first time in six days.
From the morning, selling dominated, hitting a low of 28,360 points, down 281 points.
Overseas futures and Taiwan's weighted index fell for the first time in five days, weighing on the market.
In the afternoon session, buyers were dominant and the decline narrowed, but with MSCI index rebalancing, activity remained cautious.
The Mothers Index also fell, but recovered from its low (1133.99 points).
