At a high level for the first time in two weeks
The Nikkei Stock Average rose for four consecutive trading days.
In the morning, buoyed by falling U.S. long-term interest rates and the rally in U.S. stocks on the 24th, buying was led,
and the index rose to 28,576 yen in the mid-morning (up 212 yen from the previous day).
Afterward it stalled somewhat, but stayed at high levels toward the close.
It recovered the psychological threshold of 28,500 yen and reached the highest level in two weeks, since the close on the 11th at 28,608 yen.
The Mothers Index rebounded for the first time in two days, and closed at today’s high level while the Tokyo market overall remained firm.
