Investor sentiment is a faint hope...
The Nikkei Stock Average fell for the first time in two days.
In the morning, influenced by the prior weekend's rise in U.S. stocks, buying was dominant, and it rose to 28,312 yen (up 228 yen from the prior weekend).
Subsequently, it started to decline.
The decline widened as the Taiwan Weighted Index fell, pushing the drop further to 27,632 yen (down 451 yen from the prior weekend).
The mood of investors, which had seemed to hit bottom on the weekend rebound, ended up with faint expectations...
The Mothers Index fell sharply.
After earnings announcements, many stocks were sold regardless of whether results were good or bad.
Some individual investors posted additional margin calls, and selling to avoid further margin calls continued.
It was a fairly sharp decline.
