Once again reluctant to lower
The Nikkei Stock Average fell back.
Reports that the Biden administration plans to raise capital gains taxation on the wealthy,
following the downward trend in U.S. stocks on the 22nd, there was a brief dip to 28,770 yen (down 417 yen from the previous day) in early morning trading.
Afterward, as buying on dips narrowed the declines, it temporarily recovered to 28,935 yen (down 152 yen), but then softened.
It continued to struggle lower toward the close.
The Mothers Index also fell back.
There were moments when it rose on bargain-hunting, but it was sold toward the close.
