The afternoon session is at a stalemate
Nikkei Stock Average futures show a slight rebound.
With little in the way of fresh cues, trading lacked a clear direction, hovering around the previous close (29,620 yen).
In the morning, selling led, but buying in stock index futures came in intermittently, turning the market higher.
At one point up 166 yen from the previous day, to 29,787 yen, the gains narrowed and it even dipped into negative territory.

The Mothers Index declined but the losses narrowed toward the close.
