Merely drifting as the opening approaches
The Nikkei Stock Average rebounded.
In the morning, following a decline in U.S. long-term interest rates, the three major U.S. stock indices rose on the 8th, briefly pushing the Nikkei to 30,064 yen (up 355 yen from the previous day).
After briefly crossing 30,000 yen, gains were trimmed by profit-taking, and the index stalled toward the morning session’s end.
The Mothers Index remained firm, approaching the session’s high at the close.
