Part of the IPO is popular
The Nikkei average fell for the first time in two days, but there were moments when it turned positive.
In the morning session it briefly touched 29,516 yen, down 214 yen from the previous day.
After that, while there were moments of narrowing the decline, there was little sense of direction, and the market continued to drift.
Toward around 11 o'clock the decline narrowed, but by the close of the morning session the losses slightly expanded.
The afternoon session opened with more sellers, but in after-hours trading U.S. stock index futures were solid,
and with the Shanghai Composite Index reversing to a rebound, it showed resilience and temporarily turned positive.
The Mothers Index fell.
In a market-wide lack of direction, the high-growth market also showed a soft trend.
Some newly listed IPOs recently attracted attention.
