Lacking sense of direction in the development
The Nikkei stock average shows a directionless trend.
In the morning, buying came in on the back of the previous sharp drop (down 392 points).
Immediately there were moments of a slight decline, but a quick rebound followed, rising to as high as 29,867 yen (up 171 yen from the previous session).
After the first round of gains, profit-taking pressure softened, and it again fell into the negative zone, dropping to as low as 29,523 yen (down 173 yen).
Trading near the previous session's close through the mid-session.
The Mothers index opened flat, then fell, reversed, and softened again, ending with a slight gain, mirroring the same pattern as the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
