Unstable price movement
The Nikkei Stock Average rose with U.S. stocks on the 5th local time, as the Dow Jones and S&P 500 indices reached new highs, fueling buying.
However, momentum faded as sellers waited for a pullback, keeping gains capped and producing intermittent declines, resulting in unstable price movements.
The Mothers index also opened higher but sank into negative territory.
