The overseas New York stock market over the weekend was closed for Good Friday.
On a weekly basis through April 1, the Dow rose 0.25%, marking two weeks of gains (cumulative +1.6%),
the Nasdaq Composite rose 2.6%, rebounding for the first time in three weeks, and the S&P 500 index rose 1.1%, extending gains for two weeks (up 2.7% in total) for the session.
For the monthly March, the Dow rose 6.6%, marking two months of gains (up 10.0% in total),
the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.4%, marking five months of gains (up 21.4%), and the S&P 500 index rose 4.2% (up 7.0%), ending two months of gains.
In the Tokyo stock market on the 2nd, the Nikkei Stock Average rose +1.58% for a second consecutive advance.
The TOPIX (Tokyo Stock Price Index) also rose +0.71% for a second consecutive advance.
The TSE Mothers index rose +0.74% for a fourth straight advance, while the Nikkei Jasdaq Average rose +0.19% and the TSE Second Section Index rose +0.33%, ending for two days in recovery.
The TSE First Section trading volume was 1,002,31,000 shares, and the trading value was 2,240.3 billion yen.
The number of advancing issues on the TSE First Section was 1,313 (59%), while 783 (35%) declined, and 94 (4%) were unchanged.
By sector, 19 industries rose and 24 fell.

The TSE Mothers Index rose 3.4% for a rebound after two weeks, the Nikkei Jasdaq Average rose 0.5% for a rebound after two weeks,
The TSE Second Section Index fell 0.6% for the second week in a row (cumulative -1.3%), and the TSE REIT Index rose 0.1%, ending four straight weeks of gains (+5.6%).
