Open trading session continues to advance
Nikkei stock average rose sharply for a sustained gain.
Following the broad rally in the major three indices on the U.S. stock market today, buying continued.
At one point it climbed to 29,840 yen (up 451 yen from the previous day).
However, after the initial surge, it was restrained by profit-taking sales and struggled to extend gains toward the mid-morning.
The Mothers Index also rose for the fourth consecutive day but stayed nearly flat.
