Strong rebound start
The Nikkei Stock Average opened with a sharp rebound.
The anomaly of ends-month lows and beginnings-month highs continues.
Following yesterday's retreat and the news of a $2 trillion fiscal stimulus plan unveiled in the United States on the 31st local time, expectations for economic recovery rose, and buying dominated.
Before trading began, the Bank of Japan released the March Short-Term Economic Survey of Enterprises in Japan ( 決算BOJ Tankan ),
with the DI for large manufacturers at plus 5, improving from minus 10 in the previous December 2020 survey, and beating market expectations of minus 1.
Semiconductors-related stocks remained solid.
The Mothers Index rose steadily for the third day in a row.
