Mother's day two consecutive gains
The Nikkei stock average fell sharply for the first time in five days.
In the morning, following the rise in U.S. long-term interest rates and the decline in 30-year U.S. stocks, selling dominated.
There was a pullback after four consecutive sessions of gains yesterday, dropping to 29,165 yen (down 267 yen from the previous close).
After initially holding, it briefly recovered to 29,348 yen (down 83 yen from the previous close) but softened again.
The Mothers Index was firm, rising for the second day in a row.
