The Nikkei Stock Average rose sharply, recovering to the 29,000 level for the first time in four days since closing at 29,174.00 on the 22nd.
President Biden announced that by the end of April, 100 days into his term, he aims to double the vaccination targets for the COVID-19 vaccine,
and following the rise in US stocks on the 25th, futures in the US markets rose to 29,240 in the morning session (up 510 from the previous day).
After the initial rise, profit-taking pushed the advance back and briefly the level was back to 28,953 (up 223 from the previous day).
In the afternoon, buying led the market higher; during lunchtime, outside-hours trade on US stock index futures stayed high,
and the rising trend in the Shanghai Composite and the Hong Kong Hang Seng indices supported the gains, approaching the morning session high at one point.
Thereafter it moved in a narrow range.
The Mothers Index rebounded for the first time in six days.
In the afternoon, it rose gradually and closed near the high of the day.
