Significant rally
The Nikkei Stock Average extended its gains substantially.
President Biden said he aims to double the vaccination target by the end of April, which marks 100 days in office,
and stock prices in the United States rose on the 25th, lifting the early session to around 29,240 yen (up 510 yen from the previous day).
After the initial surge, profits were booked and the gains narrowed, with the index retreating to around 28,953 yen (up 223 yen) at one point.
Rises in the Shanghai Composite and the Hong Kong Hang Seng indices were also cited as supportive factors.
The Mothers Index rebounded for the first time in six days, trading in the higher price range.
