Rebound after 5 days
Nikkei Stock Average rebounded sharply for the first time in five days.
After four consecutive declines (down about 1,811 yen, roughly 6.0%), buying led the market as a rebound was anticipated.
Subsequently, the market held steady as U.S. stock index futures rose in after-hours trading.
Continued buying in stock index futures prompted a gradual widening of the upside.
At one point it reached 35,1 yen higher at 28,757 yen.
The Mothers Index also had a dull rebound after five consecutive declines.
