Lower price drop to the lowest price
The Nikkei stock average fell for the third day in a row and closed at a low.
In the morning, on the back of a decline in US long-term interest rates, buying led the market as tech shares rose in the US stock market on the 22nd.
It rose to a high of 29,496 yen (up 322 yen from the previous day) at one point.
After the early session, gains faded for a while, then improved again at times, but buying did not continue, and the gains narrowed again.
In the afternoon, it turned downward shortly after the market opened.
At noon, time-extended trading for US stock index futures was weak, and downward pressure from the China Shanghai Composite Index and Hong Kong Hang Seng Index was also in mind.
The TOPIX rebounded for the first time in two days, but its gain narrowed toward the close of the pre-settlement session.
TOPIX turned negative in the afternoon, and as the session progressed, the downside expanded, ending at a low.
The Mothers Index fell for the third day in a row. The Mothers Index also closed at a low.
The first half had been steady, but softened toward the pre-close, and the second half progressed lower gradually.
