【US Stocks】S&P 500 turns positive for the year to date
Hello, I’m Lehman (@Lehman1980).
My posts, which I’ve been making roughly every two weeks, were delayed by a few days due to circumstances.
In the United States, various economic indicators and corporate earnings have been favorable,
The S&P 500 index closed at 3,276 on July 22, turning positive year-to-date.
From the year-to-date high, it has recovered to within about 100 points.

As mentioned in the previous article, corporate results for the most recent quarter are just starting to come out,
and it seems that in most cases they have surpassed market expectations,
leading to a favorable market sentiment and an upward trend.

SBI Securities account summary. (July 22 closing price)
The negative balance has narrowed, and the unrealized losses have almost been erased.
Cumulative realized losses and dividends show a$5,300 loss.
There were some buy/sell trades, resulting in stock holdings of about $48,000 and available cash (MMF) of about $36,000.
Trades
Buy: PFE (0→60)
Sell: QQQ (10→15→5→8), VT (355→360→300→310), T (50→0), RDSB (90→60)
Short-term trade: SPXS200 (stop loss)
In a little over two weeks, I made the above trades.
While partially realizing gains on ETFs, I sold SPXS, T, and RDSB to rebalance.
I bought PFE as news about vaccine development emerged, and yesterday it rose sharply after news of a contract with the U.S. government.
Conclusion
The past two weeks have been a period where good news was met with straightforward reactions.
However, while I had viewed US-China tensions as pro-wrestling, the mood has started to shift a bit.
Disputes over the South China Sea, Hong Kong, and the Uyghur issue are also involving the UK.

Personally, I would like to continue with a strategy centered on periodic ETF purchases.
