This week's economic indicators! There are three important events that Okayachan Man is paying attention to
① U.S.-China relations (status of U.S.-China agreement implementation, sanctions tariffs, remarks by key figures)
② Eurozone (Germany vs ECB, economic indicators)
③ Turkish Lira (Lira depreciation, trading conditions)

Hello everyone, this is Okayachan Man. I’ve listed three points of focus for this week. The first is U.S.-China relations, the second is the Eurozone, and the third is the Turkish Lira.
First, about U.S.-China relations: are they able to properly implement what was agreed at the end of last year? In particular, due to the impact of the coronavirus, China’s trade volume has decreased, so there are talks that the U.S.-China agreement cannot be implemented as agreed. I want to keep an eye on this. Also, given that U.S.-China relations are currently quite strained, I’m also watching whether their statements could escalate into sanctions and tariffs.
Second, regarding the Eurozone: Germany and the ECB are at odds over the easing policies the ECB has implemented. I’ll be watching whether this continues. Also this week, Europe will publish GDP data. For Q1 (January–March), GDP affected by the coronavirus will be released, so I’ll be paying attention to that.
Third, about Turkey: the Lira has been weakening, with some cases where it falls below 1 Lira = 15 yen. In addition, trading conditions have led some brokers to stop accepting new Turkish Lira orders. From here on, some brokers may stop handling the Turkish Lira altogether, so I want to watch brokers’ moves and whether the Lira continues to depreciate.
Last week, despite quite bad employment statistics, stock prices rose, so I wonder whether the bad aspects from the coronavirus have already been priced in, or whether risk-off will come again soon. This week, I plan to trade while determining whether stock prices will stabilize and rise. For more details, please also read my blog, etc., if you’d like.
So, let’s do our best this week as well. This was Okayachan Man.
