Hello everyone, I’m Okachanman. This is a video titled “What to watch this week in one minute,” outlining the key points for this week. First, point one is important speeches. Second, U.S.-China talks. Third, the UK election.
First, on point one: important speeches. This week, Fed Chair Jerome Powell is scheduled to testify before Congress. The testimony is planned for 1:00 a.m. on the 25th and 12:00 a.m. on the 14th, spanning two days. In addition, many other Fed officials and FOMC members are slated to speak. So I think you should pay close attention to their remarks.
Point two: U.S.-China talks. Last week, headlines about these talks caused big swings in the markets. This week, I think headlines about whether a deal can be reached or whether tariffs will be removed may move markets.
Point three: the UK election. Right now, the UK is in the thick of its general election campaign. So I think the main focus will be how the polls turn and whether the Conservative Party can win a majority. A shift in the Conservative vote could cause the pound to fall or rise accordingly.
This week, there are many speeches scheduled from Wednesday evening through Thursday and Friday. I think this will be the most tradable period. For schedules, please check the blog and other updates.
Well then, let's do our best this week. This was Okachanman.
