Hello everyone, this is Okachanman. This is a video explaining the week's points to watch in one minute. The points this week are three. First point is the policy rate, second is economic indicators, and third is risk factors.
First, the policy rate: on the 5th at 12:30, the Australian RBA Board, and on the 7th at 21:00, the Bank of England. This Bank of England meeting is Super Thursday where the inflation report is released at the same time, a highly anticipated event.
Second, the economic indicators: the ISM Non-Manufacturing Index, which is the U.S. non-manufacturing sector. I think attention is increasing there. Also, the major European countries that have been moving a lot recently—Germany, France, and the euro area—as well as the overall services and manufacturing PMIs. Canada’s employment data is another key indicator this week.
Regarding risk factors, the unresolved U.S.–China talks remain a must-watch. As for Brexit-related matters, although things have calmed somewhat, the potential for a dissolution election in the UK and the campaign surrounding it is a concern. Also, while it’s not certain, the leader of ISIS has changed, so there is concern about possible retaliatory attacks.
This week, with risk factors in headlines, I’ll be watching to see if risk-off moves occur, while trading around the economic indicators or the policy rate.
Let’s do our best this week as well. This was Okachanman.
