Hello everyone, this is Okachan-man. In the video "Okachan-man's 1-minute guide to this week's highlights," I’ve highlighted these points. First, the policy rate; second, Brexit-related matters.
First, the policy rate: this week there are three policy rates to watch. First is the Bank of Canada (BOC) on the night of the 30th at 11:00 PM. Second is the FOMC on the morning of the 31st at 3:00 AM. And third is the Bank of Japan around 12:00 around the 31st. These three central banks will announce policy rates consecutively from the night of the 30th to the daytime of the 31st.
Second, regarding Brexit: last week nothing was decided and it has been carried over to this week. First, the extension of the Brexit deadline is expected to be announced by Tuesday. Also, what will happen with the snap election is another point of focus. Since the deadline is the 31st if there is no extension, a no-deal Brexit remains a possibility to some extent.
This week is the end of month and start of month, so important indicators and many statements from key people are scheduled. For the schedule of important indicators and key-person statements, I’d recommend checking blogs and such. This week there are many Brexit, important indicators, and key-person statements, so I think it will be a week with large movements. I will strive to manage the schedule and manage risks carefully.
Now, let's do our best this week as well. This was Okachan-man.
