Okachanman's 1-minute overview of this week's important events (week of September 30)
Ancient FX Blog
(Below is the transcript of the video)
Hello everyone, this is Okachan-man. In the video "This Week's Highlights in One Minute" I’ve listed three focus points for this week. First, economic indicators; second, statements by important figures; third, geopolitical risks.
Regarding the first point, economic indicators, this week is the first week of the month, so we’ll start with employment data and the PMI from various countries that have drawn attention recently. This includes manufacturing PMI and services, and in the US, the ISM index, etc. Next, GDP will be released for the UK and Canada.
For the second point, statements by important figures, there are expected to be important remarks almost every day this week. What to focus on in those statements is the economic outlook. Depending on the outlook, it will indicate whether rate cuts are coming and what easing measures might be introduced, which is what to watch.
For the third point, geopolitical risks, the US-China relationship has been rising almost weekly. In particular, October 1 is an important day for China—the National Day—and the 70th anniversary is highly anticipated. How US-China relations will change from this point is something to watch. Secondly, Britain’s Parliament—the Brexit deadline is approaching, so attention is high. Other Middle East risks are also rising.
This week, since it’s the first week of the month, there are many statements by important figures and economic indicators scheduled, so I think we’ll see big movements based on those calendars. I’ve also written about these schedules on the blog, so please take a look there. Now, let’s do our best this week as well. This was Okachan-man.
