Hello everyone, this is Okachan-man. This is a video of the week’s highlights that can be understood in one minute, and this is the highlight of the week: the policy rate announcement.
First, at 3:00 AM on Thursday the 19th, it starts with the FOMC, around 12:00 the Bank of Japan's monetary policy, and then at 16:30 the Swiss National Bank, and at 17:00 Norway, and at 20:00 the Bank of England. On this day, five central banks will announce their policy rates.
In particular, the FOMC and the Bank of Japan's monetary policy are highly watched. In the first half of the week, we’ll be watching how the policy rate announcements unfold, and in the second half, how the policy rates are digested—that’s the likely flow this week.
Besides that, there are risk factors, especially yesterday there was news that Iranian unmanned drones attacked Saudi Arabia's oil facilities. This could lead to risk-off sentiment and may affect oil prices.
