【What is a Trend Following EA?】?】

This time, I will explain about “Trend Following EA.”

Characteristics of Trend Following

Trend following is a method that trades in line with the market direction.

For example, expressed with moving averages (MA),

buy on a Golden Cross

sell on a Dead Cross

In other words, it trades without going against the trend direction.

In the case of EA as well, we have built logic that rides the market flow faithfully.

What happens if you actually run it?

Trend Following EAs enter only after the trend is clearly confirmed,

and they do not aim for market tops or bottoms.

Therefore, the win rate is naturally around 40% and relatively low.

However, this is the big point.

When the trend truly extends, profits accumulate over time,

and it is possible to bring total profit into positive territory with a small-loss, large-profit style.

In other words, the strength of Trend Following EA is to recover with a big win while absorbing a few losses.

Ideal Portfolio Management

Actually, it is more ideal to operate a portfolio combining a Trend Following EA with a scalping EA.
