【What is Anomaly EA?】
This time we will explain “Anomaly EA.”
What is Anomaly?
Anomaly is, in a sense, “timed trading.”
It is a simple mechanism that enters and exits at predetermined dates and times, and what is programmed as such is called Anomaly EA.
For example, in the daily forex market there exists a flow of actual demand from imports and exports (funds flow).
The characteristic of Anomaly EA is to target the price moves based on such real-demand tendencies.
Representative example is “Nikkei Fix Trade”
Among Anomaly EA, the famous representative is the Nikkei Fix Trade EA.
During the time frame when Japanese banks process orders from client importers,
toward the so-called fix at around 9:55, the forex market is said to show characteristic movements in USD/JPY.
Using this mechanism, for example:
A strategy to buy USD/JPY on Go-To dates (5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th)
A strategy to buy USD/JPY toward 9:55 and settle around 3 PM
are implemented in EA.
There are many variations
Even based on the Nikkei fix trade, there are various variations.
Type that is activated from the previous day
Type that enters on fixed weekdays
Type that shifts the settlement time for ingenuity
In this way, EAs that trade based on simple conditions like “time” and “date” are generally called Anomaly EAs.
Summary
Anomaly EAs operate on a very straightforward mechanism of trading at fixed times.
Behind this lie structural factors such as real-demand flows from Japan’s imports/exports, which tend to make them stable over the long term.
Of course they’re not万能, but when included as part of a portfolio they can often help stabilize operations.
