Participate in computing races using a PC
Takeshi Kamina, part of the FX攻略.com editorial team, is hooked on mining cryptocurrencies with a self-built PC. First, what is mining?
“Many cryptocurrencies use a concept called blockchain, which records all past transactions. A block generated at a set interval records all transactions in that time frame. The key linking consecutive blocks is a complex calculation, and people around the world use their computers at once to solve it, thereby preserving the validity of the transactions. And the person who solves that calculation first receives the cryptocurrency as a reward. That is mining.”
In short, running a computer to win the prize in a computing race is mining. In reality, it’s nearly impossible for an individual to win the race, so many individuals join together, pooling their compute power as a team, and receive rewards based on their contributed computing power.
