That’s because the same type of EA is weak in the same market conditions.
For example, trend-following EAs, which often get avoided for their low win rate.
In fact, adding them to a portfolio can compensate for the drawbacks of high-win-rate but drawdown-prone scalping EAs.
Complementary operation is ideal
Here is the ideal scenario.
When a trend-following EA holds large unrealized gains, a scalping EA accumulates small profits steadily.
This can lead to a stable total profit.
If you’re thinking, “I’ve put in many EAs but not making a profit…”,
it’s possible you’re using too many of the same type of EA at the same time and suffering losses together.
It’s worth trying at least once
If there’s an EA type you haven’t used because you’re biased against it, it’s worth trying at least once.
It’s too late once you’ve suffered a big loss, so please try it “as if you were deceived” and feel it for yourself first.
From there you’ll truly see what the portfolio means.
