8/26【EA Beginner's Course】What is an Anomaly EA? The appeal of timely/trade-at-scheduled trades
FX Auto Trading, the EA developer Reiwa’s Duble E.
Starting this month, in keeping with the title “EA Beginner Course,”
we will again explain from the very basics.
“From now on, I want to start not only FX but also EA operation!”
We will deliver this to those who are earnestly and seriously thinking that way.
【What is Anomaly EA? — The Charm of Timed Trades】】
This time we will explain about “Anomaly EA.”
What is Anomaly?
Anomaly is, in a sense, the “timed trade.”
It is a simple mechanism that enters and exits at predetermined dates and times,
and what is programmed into this is called Anomaly EA.
For example, in the daily forex market there are flows of real demand from imports and exports (funds movement).
The hallmark of Anomaly EA is to target such moves based on real demand patterns.
A代表例 is “Nikkei Trade”
Anomaly EA’s representative and famous example is the Nikkei Trade EA.
During the time window when Japanese banks process customer orders such as importers,
toward the so-called “Nikkei” around 9:55, the forex market is said to show noticeable movements in USD/JPY.
Using this mechanism, for example:
A strategy to buy USD/JPY on the Go-to date (5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th)
A strategy to buy USD/JPY toward 9:55 on the Nikkei and settle around 3 pm
These kinds of strategies are commonly implemented as EA.
There are many variations
Even based on Nikkei trade, there are various variations.
■ Type that is set up from the previous day
■ Type that enters on fixed days of the week
■ Type that adjusts the settlement time for smarter execution
Thus, EA that trades based on simple conditions such as “time” and “date” is generally called Anomaly EA.
Summary
Anomaly EA operates on a very straightforward mechanism: “trade at a fixed time.”
Behind it lies structural factors in the market such as real demand flows from Japan’s imports/exports, which tend to make it relatively stable over the long term.
Of course not万能, but incorporating it as part of a portfolio can often aid in stable operation.
What happens when you actually run Anomaly EA?
Now, we will explain what it feels like when you actually run an Anomaly EA.
Anomaly EA is an “easy-to-forecast” EA
Normal EAs have internal logic that is a black box,
“When to enter?”
“When to exit?”
which beginners may find worrisome.
However, with Anomaly EA, it’s different.
Since it is predetermined exactly when to enter and exit,
it is easy to predict, and beginners can safely start running it.
Some people build portfolios with multiple Anomaly EAs
For example, combining a classic time-entry Anomaly EA with another that enters at a different time
naturally alters the profit and loss results.
Using this difference well,
some people build portfolios using only multiple Anomaly EAs.
EA benefits from diversification, so this is a smart approach.
Win rate tends to be in the 50% range
However, Anomaly EA does not enter based on technical signals;
it simply enters at fixed times in a calm, steady manner.
Therefore, the win rate tends to sit in the 50% range.
It is not a “high-win-rate, continuous-win” type, but
even so, by long-termly leveraging the real-demand flow, total profits can be pursued—this is the strength of Anomaly EA.
Summary
■ Anomaly EA is comfortable for beginners because the entry and exit times are known
■ You can create a more stable portfolio by combining multiple Anomaly EAs
■ The main range of win rates is around 50%, but by leveraging the market’s structural patterns, long-term profits can be aimed for
