Since last year, this series has been written with the aim of posting every day.
Probably we’ve continued for almost a year now!
If you read what I have written so far,
I believe you will come closer to a better EA operation.
And, since I’d like to take a short break,
I’d like to continue posting with the help of ChatGPT.
Occasionally, I will post irregularly as in the past.
FX automated trading, the EA developer—Reiwa’s Double-E.
A while ago, I recall there was a bit of controversy. It was about whether “EA developers should publish their performance,” and the question of “discretionary traders, should they publish their results?”
Indeed, EA management and discretionary trading have different characteristics, and discussions were held with that in mind; personally, I have doubts about not publishing results.
Publishing results and the responsibility of EA developers
If someone is attracting customers with poetry or outcome-based claims without publishing results, that cannot be considered a legitimate EA developer stance.
EA developers typically run their EAs on demo or real accounts, and the results are quantified and published. Just like backtesting, forward testing (actual trading results) should also be published as standard. If a vendor does not publish forward tests, that should raise questions at that point.
A merit-based EA developer
EA developers operate largely on merit. If you’re smooth-talking but your results are poor, you’re finished. And those results are soon visible as numbers. It’s a very harsh environment, and developers feel substantial pressure.
For discretionary traders and those providing signal tools, they also show results numerically; in the sense that EA developers face a tougher situation since their numbers are publicly visible. For example, signal tools, financial analysts, and investment salons rarely publish their results in numerical form.
Pride in a harsh environment
Personally, I don’t think this harsh environment is unfair. Rather, I take pride in being able to compete fairly based on ability. Accordingly, as an EA developer, I approach daily work with a sense of tension.
Customers may find it hard to grasp that sense of “harshness” or “tension,” but I believe this is the reality needed to survive in the world of EA development, so I’m sharing this part intentionally.
In the end, you can’t continue unless you create a profitable EA. For that reason, I am daily striving and doing my best.
Well then!
