Today,“A bad EA cannot be good no matter what”is the topic I will discuss.
1. An EA that does not perform in backtests or live trading is bad
In other words, an EA that fails in backtests and also fails in live trading cannot win no matter how you tweak its parameters. If something can’t win, it won’t win. This is reality.
2. An EA that shifts responsibility through parameter tuning
If you can adjust parameters and the live forward results are poor, an EA that can justify with excuses like “the settings were bad” is, in my view, a “blame-shifting” type. When operation doesn’t go well, developers may appear to shift responsibility to others.
3. What is an unfinished EA
Such EAs, to me, are unfinished. I feel developers did not refine them or consciously left a loophole. While some say more customization leads to longevity, I think such underdeveloped EAs seem to be built to make excuses when problems arise.
4. Responsibility of the EA developer
Ultimately, the user’s asset growth is most important, but if that isn’t the case, it feels like an EA designed to offer excuses. It’s unacceptable to make the user take all responsibility from the start. As an EA developer, I believe in building with responsibility and delivering real value to users.
5. Developers who cut corners for rewards
And frankly, I can’t accept a mindset of earning rewards by using such cut-corner EAs. I understand some are under financial pressure, but in that case, shouldn’t they teach programming rather than focusing on EA development?
6. For the sake of the EA industry
If such developers increase, customers will be harmed, and the healthy development of the EA industry will suffer. I personally work hard to ensure I’m not grouped with such developers. I understand the others’ points, but I cannot be convinced.
This is only my personal view.
