We’ve probably continued for almost a year now!

When analyzing the market, some feel “now is a trending market,” while others feel “no, it’s a ranging market.”
This is largely influenced by the time frame you are watching.
For example, people looking at the 1-hour chart and those looking at the daily or weekly chart can have completely different perceptions of the same market.
The impact of time frame on market perception
Market movement changes greatly depending on the time frame.
While short-term traders view trends on the 1-minute or 5-minute charts, long-term traders view on the daily or weekly charts and perceive completely different market characteristics.
For example, on a 5-minute chart a trend might seem to be forming, but on a daily chart it may be just a small movement within a range.
Because of these differences,
whether you call the market a “trending market” or a “range market” depends greatly on which time frame you use as the baseline.
Speaker’s responsibility: explicit background
However, those sharing information sometimes say “it’s a trend now” or “it’s a range now” without clearly showing which time frame they are using.
This can be very confusing for recipients and may lead to misunderstanding in some cases.
As a broadcaster, you should
**“I am looking at this time frame to assess the market. Based on that, I think it’s a trend” or “on this time frame it’s a range”**
clearly state your time frame and viewpoint before sharing.
By doing so, recipients can judge, for example, “this person is viewing it from a short-term perspective” or “this person is speaking from a long-term perspective,”
and be able to use the information more accurately.
Recipient’s perspective: cultivate discernment
That said, those receiving information must also develop the ability to discern which time frame the speaker is assuming.
Even if told “now is a trending market,” you must determine whether that is a short-term or long-term viewpoint yourself.
In trading and EA operation, time frames are a very important element.
To avoid short-term traders being misled by long-term trends,
or vice versa, you need to correctly understand the broadcaster’s background and content.
Conclusion
When disseminating information, clearly indicate which time frame you are basing your market view on.
And recipients should carefully determine which time frame the information is speaking from.
