Today we will talk about the theme of**“Be careful with the official demo forward in compound interest operation”**.
GoGoJungle's EA sales page lists data for the “official demo forward,”
where you can see the EA’s actual running performance.
The starting capital is basically 1 million yen,
and within that, the performance of the demo forward is recorded using the LOT settings chosen by the EA developer.
Pay attention to the difference between simple interest and compound interest
To accurately evaluate EA performance, simple interest is the baseline.
However, some EAs are offered with compound interest settings, which can affect forward test data.
With compound interest, as the margin increases, the LOT automatically increases,
and as a result, the amount earned can look much larger.
If forwarding test results are compound and backtests are simple, you cannot compare them directly, and
even if backtests are also compound, the LOTs set will differ, so direct numeric comparison is meaningless.
Beware of marketing using numbers
Some EA developers boast based on strong results under compound operation,
saying things like, “We earned 500,000 yen this week!”, but
that does not necessarily mean the EA is excellent.
Compound operation increases the LOT and thus the profit amount, but you must look at actual pips values and risk balance to evaluate properly.
Be careful with rankings
GoGoJungle has an “Revenue Amount Ranking,”
but it mixes both simple and compound-operating EAs together.
Therefore, do not judge simply “this EA is good” by revenue ranking.
When compound operation increases the LOT, the revenue amount appears larger, but in pips terms it may not be that significant.
Summary
When choosing an EA, it is important to read the data with attention to whether it uses compound or simple interest.
Do not be swayed only by the “amount” presented by EA developers; check performance in pips and consistency with backtests.
Also, treat GoGoJungle’s “Revenue Ranking” as only a rough reference, and evaluate based on actual risk management and LOT settings.
To properly assess an EA, pay attention to these details and choose carefully; that is the key to success.
