Since last year, I’ve been writing this series aiming for daily posts.
I think I’ve managed to continue for nearly a full year now!
If you read what I’ve written so far,
you’ll surely move closer to better EA operations, I believe.
And, since I’d like to take a short break at times,
I’ll continue posting with the help of ChatGPT.

Today,“What is a Meaningful EA Developer?”I’d like to talk about this theme.
In the FX industry, many people explain by clinging to knowledge and past experience,
and explaining based on that.
Of course, that is important. Verbalizing and explaining past market conditions is essential in market analysis.
However, personally, I think it’s not enough to be truly “meaningful.”
Looking back at past markets and saying “it happened this way then, so it should move the same in the future” as a result-based narrative, or just explaining past successes, makes it difficult to adapt to the real-time current market, let alone future markets.
For example, even in pro baseball commentary, there are analyses that simply point out “this is why we won because it happened this way here.” To me, that feels unhelpful, because it’s highly uncertain how often the same situation will recur in future games.
So, what is a meaningful EA developer?It is someone who, while referring to past data, builds logic that can robustly respond to market fluctuations from now into the future and provides an EA that has a high likelihood of generating sustained profits through automated trading.
For example, instead of merely saying “this pattern was effective in the past,” create an EA based on long-term price movements that remains profitable in any market environment and can adapt to future markets. Creating such an EA is, in my view, truly valuable and meaningful EA development.
An EA should have consistency in the market and be adaptable to various environments. Therefore, I feel flexible development that looks to the future, not tethered to the past, is necessary.
With this perspective, I will continue to strive for “meaningful EA development.”
